i found a rock outside my yard so it had dirt but i wanna add it to my tank

the best thing to do is rinse it off, maybe soak it in a bucket for a few hours, then you can put it in.

beaware that rocks such limestone will make your water alkaline. Other rocks can make it alkaline too or even acidic so it is better if you buy one from a petstore. Always boil it to prevent toxins in your aquarium which can kill your fish.

You could boil it in hot water and that would disinfect it, then it would be safe to put in the tank.
