i have a gold fish in a bowl,,the guy at the store said it was cool...gold fish can live without bubbles...but all day long it is swimming at the top getting...i guess...air...when i put a cup or two in the bowl it is okay for a while...then it starts doing it again....is that the reason they say it's okay...because it will go et it's oxygen from the top...i feel really sorry for it...i am scared one day it will be tired from having to stay swimming at the top and die....or....do they somehow get oxgen from other matters...i stomped please help...i am considering just buying a small tank anyways...just want to make sure i am not over reacting...

I have had this betta since April and now his eyes are all bugged out and he has this ugly color next to his gills, what is wrong with him? All my other bettas are fine and healthy except him. I clean their tanks every week and they get fed 3 pellets in the morning and 3 pellets at night. What can I do to help him?

I have about 20 live bearing fish in my fish tank and one of my fish (i have no clue which one) had babies. They got eaten and i only saved one. I already have a live bearing container but its very hard to catch the fish and put them in so i don't bother. I have a filter that is under the gravel that sucks the water down and out the tubes in the corners and i wanted to know what i could do to protect the newborns i find in my tank? anything else i should know tell me! Thanks.

After a big huge battle with fighting algea blooms 'n bacterial blooms i finally managed to get my aquarium crystal clear (By doing some pretty serious cleaning etc) and i i started thinking that maybe i should return to filling up my bucket with brita filtered water to prevent further bacterial etc blooms! so i was hoping to get advise from serious fish keeper 'n experts on what they feel is best? currently i'm using an Aquaclear 30 running a 20 gallon all glass fish tank ..

Thanks :) :)

They are minute and there are thousands of them stuck to the inside of the glass. I have scubed them off once but they came back. They don't seem to be bothering my fish. I don't see movement so I don't know if it is a parasite type thing or a fungus of somesort. I just want to know how to get rid of them.

In our present tank we currently have two guppies, one tiger barb, one kissing gourami and one black moor. The black moor was one of the first we bought and is fine-likewise with the gourami and barb. I am new to the world of fish and know NOW that these fish should not all be together due to agressiveness-now earlier someone mentioned to me that a moor is a cold water fish and the others are freshwater/tropical and they all need different temps to live.......Can someone please help me fix this mess. I bought another tank to seperate agressive/semi agressive and the moor, gourami and barb-all older fish seem fine in the tank they are in but I am REALLY finding all of this confusing to be honest. I have a 9 yr old son-fishboy 2006-who is REALLY interested in fish but I am not helping out his interest much........
