All declorinators are different. So you have to put different amounts, it says how much you use in the back of the bottle, example... 1 teaspoon per 10 gallons.
It isnt a matter of cold or warm water... it is a matter of the degrees the certain type of fish needs to be in. These fish below need to be in 75 - 80 degrees. I have an automatic heater in the tank. I suggest freshwater fish.
I just had my leopard puffer die yesterday.... he wouldn't eat =(
and the stupid crawfish ate my red claw crab too.
Consult your local petstore associate that can help you with more info.

I have 9 black skirt tetras and 4 Buenos Aires Tetras in a 20 gallon tank. I am cycling a 65-gallon tank for transferring over the Buenos Aires tetras.
One indicator of an overstocked aquarium is when you get an ammo spike from a 1/3 water change - without vacuuming the gravel. I have 30" of fish length in a 20 tank - for now. It was only meant to be temporary.

I used to have tropical fish (a.k.a. warm-watered), but either type is fine. Though for starters, maybe a goldfish or something would be best because you don't need a water heater. I don't know about dechlorinizer though, srry, because I was really young so my dad did it. But what kind of person keeps a dish for a pet?

Well, I prefer warm water fish, because there is more variety. With coldwater, your choices are goldfish, goldfish or goldfish ;)
About the dechlor, consult the instructions on the bottle. Each brand is different.
I have a lot of fish...
I have 8 neolamprologus brevis (which are little shelldwelling cichlids) - I'm expect fry (babies) soon

in case you choose decrease priced, bypass with goldfish. purely 50c or so and ordinary to maintain. in case you choose an excellent number of fish bypass with mollies or guppies. They reproduce like rabbits. in case you choose a "puppy" bypass with oscars or koi. you may puppy them and that they are quite cool. Too many techniques.....salt or freshwater...etc.
