I remember when we had about 8 fish in the tank. Then they all except 2 died out within a month. We cleaned the tank regularly, they were feed properly, and it was not crowded (We only had 4 fish in a 15 gallon tank at a time). Now we have 4 fish and none of them have died.

unless you see visible signs of ilness (i.e hemmoraing in the fins, a cotton-like appearance, white spots on the body) it's impossible to say without knowing what your water quatlity looks like. your local pet store should test it for you free of charge, and then go from there.

I hope this helps! well to tell u the truth, i had so many fishes and some already died and i asked myself why did they die so easily? well some fishes are a bit different. maybe your other fishes died because some fishes dies because they don't eat or they have to be fed once in a while. Also if you clean ur fish tank good. well if u use the ones when u drop in the tank and later its automatically clean u shouldn't use that because some r a bit strong for the fishes to resist.

Without knowing what kind of fish they were, how big they were, what size tank you had, and what your temp, pH, and other parameters were, there is no way anyone can determine why your fish died.

Off the top of my head, I'd say if you can only get 4 to survive, that's probably the limit ofyour bio-load capacity for the type of fish you have in the size tank you have. Four 3 inch slender fish is pretty close to the recommended limit of one slender inch per gallon.

What did you clean the tank with?

Was the water treated properly? I.E.. did you use feeder fish first? Did you change all the water at the same time? How about water tempature?

All questions you need to ask.

I think you just needed to clean the tank more often. It also could be what kind of fish and where you got the fish from. My brother got some gold fish from walmart and the next day they died. True story...

first and foremost, everytime you clean out your fish tank, do not put the fish straight away into the new-clean-water. make sure to put in some chemical substance to neutralize the amount of clorine in the water (they are harmless to the fish, so don't worry). make sure to avoid putting living aquatic plants inside the tank unless you have the aerator. try that and your fish will live happily ever after

Well, the same thing happened to me, sometimes it can matter about what kind of fish they are, some do not like the tap water, some like the water that is soft. most water is thick with colorine and the fish die from that, so try contacting RainSoft they give water suggests. and maybe that will help keep your pets and FAMILY! alive, i mean when you get out the the shower you get itchy?
With Reinsoft water.. It doesn't.

So yeah, take my advice.
