My dad absolutely ADORES his salt water fish tank! I want to get him a Christmas gift related to tropical fish or reefs or something like that. I wouldn't dare get him anything to put into his ecosystem because it's super fragile and I probably wouldn't get the right thing.

However, he really seems to enjoy watching specials on the Discovery Channel about tropical fish and barrier reefs and so on. I was wondering if you have any suggestions for a DVD about something relating to this, or any other gift ideas you think would be good.

Any of the Blue Planet movies, narrated by David Attenborough, are fabulous:

They have some coral reefs and that sort of thing, with some amazing shots.

I would suggest a book on rare species of fish and/or corals. Amazon.com probably has tons of books on saltwater animals. Rather than a textbook of how to keep them, maybe try a book that is more informational in style with good pictures.

There was this amazing and sometimes gross movie on animal planet, all about animals that live in the darkest places of the ocean. The shots of the creatures that live in the ocean are incredible and you could probably oreder the movie. It sure to please your dad. Hope this helps!!!

a golden archer gourami is a sturdy one. despite the indisputable fact that ur mom and father choose a huge tank. they could get round 12-18inches lengthy. in the asian cultures the golden archer gourami represents sturdy fortune and prosperity. the kissing gourami is a fave. i love the hot balloon purple kissing gourami at our shop they're diverse and that i believe they stay alot smaller than their "primary" opposite numbers.
