Marbles could be fantastic, yet wash them first. additionally, my brother has dropped many little tiny toys in my sister's fish tank. He hasn't died, yet i does no longer do it on objective except you purchase particular fish tank gadgets on the puppy keep. by making use of the way, once you wash the marbles DONT USE cleansing soap! it may finally kill the fish. Use boiling warm water, and which will clean all the germs off.

I have used rocks from the garden in my 4ft tropical aquarium. Test the rocks first by putting a little vinegar on them, if they fizz don't use them. I always boil the rocks in water for about 15 minutes to make sure they are sterile before putiing them in the tank and obviously wait until they have gone cold.

you can use plenty of household things in your tank! rinse the marbles and stones- DO NOT USE SOAP- and place them at the bottom of your tank. Get cup and place it on it's side on the bottom like a cave, partially burried in the marbles. Be creative but do not use soap or anything with sharp edges.

the marbles are good, but the rocks I'd be careful about, something like shale or gravel from your driveway is not good. I'd just stick to the marbles

In general, no. However if the rocks are very smooth you can boil them, then wrap them in foil and bake them to remove any harmful bacteria.
