I work at an animal shelter that is run on donations, and there are lots of other things besides food that are often needed.

Bleach
Hydrogen Peroxide
Rubbing Alcohol
Cat litter (clay is usually best)
Toilet paper
Paper towels
Envelopes
Dish detergent

Also, some shelters take aluminum cans. They then recycle them for the money. which most shelters need. Especially if they are like the ones I work at, which runs off of nothing but donations. Thanks for taking the time to donate to a shelter. Those of us working there really appriciate all of your donations and support.

I have currently two Kelpies and a Red heeler and my Rhodesian Ridgeback who is the family pet.
However one of my Kelpies is pregnant and I am going to retire her for awhile, so I will need to replace her.
I don't want another Kelpie, otherwise their maybe a little jealousy.
What dog would you people recommend I have a look at???

I have a two year old American Bulldog that was hit by a pick-up truck three weeks ago. I took her to the vet and there were no broken bones just minor scrapes. The vet checked her and said she was fine. This past week I noticed my dog breathing hard and heavy, at night it's hard for me to sleep because her breathing is so loud. The vet tells me she is fine but I don't think so. Are there any vets that can tell me why she may be like this?

Okay here is what happened to my dog.

Okay I switched my dogs food to Purina because he wasn't eating his Beneful. I slowly converted him to it by mixing half and half but I guess he really liked it or something because her finished the entire bowl in less than 30 seconds. Now my dog has horrible diareah and I don't want to take him to the vet because he is not a puppy so it won't affect him as much (we give him plenty of water) plus its 9 right now and the vet closed. My mom said to give him rice becasue that will help stop it and it did, but it wore off...

Hey guy, had to write this down....looking for some feedback.

My little yorkie was getting old, she started losing her vision and hearing and we knew soon she would be gone. Tonight though my parents let her out on the balcony (2 up) to get some air...I was in my room and heard screaming and howling. I ran downstairs and couldnt see her. Ran outside and she was lying in the garden below us. She was still alive sitting crying. I burst into tears as soon as I saw her, I thought I was just thinking the worst. I carried her up and she started crying whilst we phoned the vet. I am a complete mess, depressed, I cant sleep and worst of all im going to miss the best friend I ever had...since I was 7. How do you cope with this. Our whole family has just broken down - especially my Mum. Any ideas how I can help myself as well as my mum get through this tough time? Thank you. Paul

I have 2 JRT's and both of them recently got bumps by their eyes. they appeared in less than a day and have gotten rather large within a couple hours. 2 weeks ago they got fleas!!! WOW i know i have no clue how both of these happened. I took one of them to have the vet to have her checked out we told the vet that she had played with a pitbull a couple times about a month ago and that, that dog recently got ringworm, they did a black light scan and she said that's what it is but somehow i find it hard to believe this. Both of them have them only like right on their eye lids(side of eye kind of). If anybody has a clue what this coule be please let me know

Don't tell me to go to a different vet because i will but until then i would like to see if anybody else has had this problem

She was born in the US and now lives in Canada with us.

We have proof that both her parents are pure-breed rough collies, BUT the things is that her mother was registered with the AKC (American Kennel Club) and her father was registered with the CKC (Continental Kennel Club)

Are there ANY kennel clubs (doesn't matter what) that I can register her with?

Also, we have a male and he is registered with the AKC. It would be perfect if the kennel club I register my girl with also recognizes AKC and approve my boy too.

Do you think it's wrong to chain a dog up outside, like, while the owners are working? On a lead that's like a clothesline, that they can run up and down on?
