An old freind of ours ( and I mean old as in age) told me I wash my dog too much in smelly stuff ( I mean nice he means smelly) that is why it rolls on dead smelly stuff (lioke poop, fish, rotting bones etc) What do you think?

I might add his dog never smells and he doesn't wash it at all, it just swims in his dam. (true he has never washed it)

This dog is ALMOST a perfect dog. Our problem with him is he has pooped on our floor when left alone and we tried buying a dog crate and putting him in that. Well the very first time he was in it my fiance came home fist and seen that he was out. Once he got in the house he saw that our dogs face was all swollen and bruised and his right eye was almost swollen shut. Our dog pried apart some of the bars in the crate and tore up the tray at the bottom and squeezed out of a four inch gap. Our dog is a full grown Pit Bull. We can't believe he squeezed though such a small space. After getting out he peed in our bed. Does anyone have any idea what we can do? He is an inside dog and we take him with us whenever we can. The times we can't take him with us we take him outside before we leave.

My fiance's dog, a huskie, has ran away. I have gone out calling his name, posted fliers, and canvased the neighborhood.

The poor boy has been missing 24 hrs as of this morning (10/26).
I am at a loss as to what else to try.
He is chipped, and has tags with both my phone number and my fiance's number on them.

My fiance is in the army and just got stationed over seas. This dog is his baby.

Please help!!!!!

So many people want designer dogs with "low shedding" (yes I know you can't predict in a crossbreed), yet refuse to buy poodles because they "don't like them".

Why? What's so wrong with them?

Is because of the image of them that was portrayed in old cartoons? Does that image still prevail in so many people's minds?

No thumbs down or flaming, honest answers however they come are fine by me. I'm interested to know WHY so many people dislike the breeds so much.

(for the record - I don't own a poodle. I'm not being defensive about my dog)

I took her in ,unknowingly that she was pregnant, and she is about the have pups. I have no clue what her breed is. Just wondering so I can let the future pup owners know. Thanks.

original puppy to large breed puppy (per the vets request) and now my puppy has bad BAD boo boo! I was concerned about this so I took him to the vet and she gave me some medicine to help control it...it hasn't helped. Has any one else ever had the same problem when switching different kinds of dog food? It actually is still Science Diet just for a different size dog.

Ok. I'm interested in getting a show pup. This would be my 1st one, I have NO experience in showing, do have a mentor lined up (if the breeer doesn't live close by). I am involved in my local training club, help teach classes, steward for Rally/Agility trials, on the board and in charge of setting up Obedience seminars for the club...
Why do I have a hard time finding a good show pup. Most breeders have said I could get a show pup, not the top pup (which I can understand) but a 'good' one. I understand that I have to prove myself in the ring..
I didn't know anything about Obedience and my girl has her CGC, RN and CD title..So I feel that I would do well with a show pup, I just need someone to give me a chance...All of these show people got their start because someone gave them a chance...I just need the same thing.
My other downfall is that I can't travel cross country to show the dog. I would take s/he to shows within 4-5 hrs from me....
Any advice.
So what am I doing wrong???

My dog just came into the computer room and STARED at me. She looked scared but was wagging her butt like she does when she is happy.. She was sorta whining too. Then she left room and I called her name (Lucy) and she wouldn't comeback. IS my dog okay????? She is a great dog.

I have a dog, still a puppy I guess, who has a bad habit of play biting. Believe me, we've tried every method. We've tried the yelping, didn't work. In fact, it makes him try to bite even more as well as bark. I've even tried using lemon juice on my hands. Turns out that my dog is a lemon junkie because he licked my hand as it was a piece of steak. We've tried telling him no, everything. Is this something he'll eventually grow out of? And no, we're not going to bite him back or hit him so don't even leave those responses and only serious responses please.
