Frontline is a good product but if you want to be rid of the fleas, I would recommend Advantix - It is a contact repellent. Frontline will only affect the biting fleas however as soon as the fleas comes in contact with the pet wearing Advantix, it will become paralyzed and eventually die thus not biting the pet. It is nice because it also help with repelling mosquitoes which transmit heartworm disease from one dog to another. But do not use Advantix as a substitutes for heartworm prevention.

Flea baths are not a good thing. It is basically poisoness shampoo and you have to realize that ANYTHING foriegn like that they you put IN or ON your dogs lowers their immune system and compromises health. Diet is largely responsible for dogs who get fleas all the time. Fleas are attracted to unhealthy environments and animals.
We used to have a major problem with fleas until I switched all of my dogs to the raw diet. Fleas and ticks are no longer interested in them. They get no grains in their diet. Their nutrition is 'real' not a brown crunchy nugget of unknowns, chemicals for preservatives, synthetic vitamins and nutrients.
Feeding a better food 'could' help and I would suggest using a Frontline on him over a poisoness shampoo. The Frontline is cheaper and you dont have to make a vet appointment to get it. Just walk in and tell them you need some and they will ask how much your dog weighs.
I think many people assume they have to see the vet and pay big bucks to control fleas. Likely why so many try to the cheap over the counter more dangerous methods of ridding them. Go get a capstar and Frontline at the vets office and it will cost you probably under 10 bucks.

They don't fleas catch them LOL. NO really because the live in the ground so if you wash your dog in flea meds it only kills the fleas that are on them and some continue for a few days. Frontline and similar products are only effective when the flea bites the dog that is why you will still get the odd flea..I am pretty sure that is right but please correct me if I am wrong.

They always come back because flea baths don't work. They are useless. All pet store treatments are, because stores aren't allowed to sell the proper chemicals needed for flea treatment - but they try anyway, dressing up basic, pointless insecticides as flea treatment!
Go to your vet to get some Frontline, Revolution or Advantage. They work.

The tiny black specifications are the two ticks, fleas, or flea airborne dirt and mud (flea poop). you may desire to flow to the vet and get frontline/advtantix/etc. The OTC flea products do no longer paintings besides. Your canine can even have hypersensitive reactions. you may attempt switching to a prescription canine nutrition specifically made for canines with hypersensitive reactions or placed money into hypersensitivity pictures. additionally you mentioned she does not have 'extreme mange'. Does that recommend that she has mange? considering might desire to be a area of the subject! *edit* it relatively is an instantaneous quote from the information provided: "she doesnt have alot of hair loss or extreme mange" this assertion means that she is experiencing hairloss and has mange. surely, i've got been working in vet clinics for very just about 10 years. the black specifications sound like flea airborne dirt and mud. what products are you utilising for flea administration? how many times do you bathe the canine? What fragrences do you placed on that is dermis/fur? You mentioned the vet could no longer discover something, and then later mentioned they have been leaning in direction of hypersensitive reactions and which you declined hypersensitivity checking out. If a vet has narrowed down the accessible reasons to hypersensitive reactions, then attempt calling them and discussing what low value thoughts there are. many vets will paintings with properly popular consumers. communicate with them, in the event that they be conscious of you, then they be conscious of your undertaking and might paintings out a fee plan with you.

Hmm, well, without proper monthly dose of flea and tick medication, that could be your problem. Fleas are attracted to animals because they eat/drink their blood, which is why they love to live on them. They tend to irritate humans as well, especially if there's an infestation. Talk to a vet who can perscribe you a good monthly medication.

Fleas are a parasite. They lay their eggs on bedding, carpet, furniture and your yard. Flea eggs can survive several months waiting for a warm body to pass by and warm them up. Fleas have to drink blood in order to reproduce and adult fleas can be immune to chemicals.

It's because we often associate with dogs whose owners are cheap bastards and neglect them to the point they get infested.
