I've also observed frm her last pregnancy that she doesn't eat and drink much for a couple of days. If she stops feeding her pups, what can i give the pups. Thanks in advance for all the help.

Why did you breed her if she is very old? Geez!

You need to get in bottles, nipples and puppy formula. You also need to get mother and pups checked by a vet like all good breeders should within 48-72 hours of the birth. You can ask about bottle feeding when you go. I can tell you it won;t be fun having to do it every 2 hours day and night for the first 2 weeks then every 3-4 hours day and night until weaning. Hope you saved vacation time from work just in case.

You need to make sure she's eating and drinking or her milk will dry up for sure. Good quality puppy food. Not cheap adult dogfood.

I'm not being nasty, but you are going to be in quite the pickle if she does stop feeding them.

You need to get the poor dog spayed. What do you mean by "very old?" Just how old is the dog? If you keep letting her have litters, you will kill her.As for what to feed her, give her a good puppy food, and add some fresh meat or canned food, some yogurt, eggs, and a good dog vitamin, and feed her at least three times a day until the puppies are almost weaned, then slack off to dry up her milk supply. Then,PLEASE,get the poor dog spayed!

Edit: If she does dry up,give the pups puppy milk replacer."Just Born" and "Esbilac" are two brands that are readily available. You'll have to feed the pups every three hours and stimulate them to go to the bathroom by wiping the genital area with a warm, damp cotton ball. You really need to take the dog and pups to a vet as her not wanting to eat could mean an infection from a retained puppy or placenta.

You may want to consider feeding the pups by hand if your ***** is struggling, my sister breeds dogs and her eldest ***** couldn't support the litter at just 6 years old. There is a recipie for dog milk somewhere, it has stuff like mayonaise in it. If not, high protein foods are always a good choice.

Why is she still having pups if she is very old. Dont let her have pups any more.
You will need to buy puppy replacer milk from either your vet or see if your Wal Mart carries it. Also alot of puppy bottles too.
Please let this be her last litter. Have her spayed or keep her away from males while she is in heat.

Bubbles, eh? Can we assume they reside in your empty skull? WHY are you letting this OLD dog breed willy-nilly and make more pups to die in shelters? Don't you give a tiny dam what happens to her? Do you secretly hate her and want her to suffer and die? What is WRONG with you?

a high protein diet. its not a guarantee she can provide the milk even if she has a great diet. they sell puppie formula in case you dont get enough out of her.
