Everyone wants to learn right? Lies will not help the learning process.
My question is 1...How do you view your pet? Little furry human,,, or Animal?

Question 2....How is your pets behavior? Over protective, chews/destroys things, friendly with other people, bites strangers, nips you, growls at you in your own bed, barks alot, walks on a leash, friendly to other dogs/pets, not friendly to other dogs/pets.....etc..etc.

Chihuahua, Jack Russel, Setter or whatever. Tell me which dog you think is best.

I don't know why, but, when I see people who treat their pets like humans..That's just one of my pet peeves. Or like animal activists, why do people think lifting animals above humans is "right"? If you do, please, explain??
And if you don't, state why.

Thanks!

PS - Incase you're wondering; I treat my pets good. I have a dog, two cats and two birds. They all get alot of attention, the dog is outside, cats/birds indoors. I don't believe it's "wrong" to keep dogs outside - wolves were never indoors. I do let my dog come in alot, but he "stays" outside. And he loves it !! He's "hyperactive" so (lol) he's got alot more space outside and, honestly, if he were indoors he'd drive me bonkers running around like a wild-dog!
What are your views?

What would they be called? Muddles? Mutt-poos? Do you think I could sell the babies?

We recently purhased our first show quality puppy and being the dog lover that I am, I would like to get started in the world of show. We got him from a wonderful breeder, who offered to help and stand behind us every step of the way, if this was the path we decided to take with our new pup. I'm well aware of the commitment that lies ahead but with the love I have for my breed, I believe its worth it. My question is, to those who chose this path....how and what made you decide to do so? What are the pros? Cons? Do you have any regrets? I would love to hear the stories and opinions of others....thanks :)

I always put Frontline plus on my dogs and for some reason my dogs and everyone I know is having the same exact same problem. Usually Frontline plus works in a matter of two days. This time around? It's like I did not even treat them at all. Is anyone else having the same problem with fleas this year? What else can I do. That was really expensive $56.00 for flea medication that did not work at all. My dogs are both in the 120lb area. My Saint Bernard would be only to happy to not have to itch every couple of minutes. Please help with some advise!!!

I have a 2 year old, female, apbt. She really likes to bite my hands and feet. It doesnt hurt or anything but it does get annoying, sometimes i cant even put my feet on the ground without her biting it. She thinks im her chew toy or something. I try holding her muzzle shut when she bites me but i think that just motivates her. Any ideas on how to stop this is appreciated.

We are getting two lab puppies (male and female).
I like Sierra for female.... we live in an mountainous area.
Not sure about male.
What are some good, unique names for a golden lab? I'm open to anything besides extremely common and overused names.

there is a third grade girl, my sister, and she is terrified of dogs...she has been bitten...more like nibbled...and also been jumped on by a puppy when she was 3

so what do we do to get her over he fear. Its really embarrassing too because she screams and runs away even when its on a leash...she is a drama queen too so that doesn't help. oh and getting a dog is out of the question

The dog, Sally, is a 12 year old shepherd mix. Whenever I come home to visit my parents I see her tied outside, dirty, tired, (and depending on the weather) cold and wet. She is starting to have hip problems and she can hardly control her bladder. My family, as it seems, is too preoccupied with themselves to care for Sally beyond feeding and occasionally walking. They don't like having her inside because 1) they live in a small house and 2) they don't like the mess she leaves behind. I don't necessarily think Sally is treated terribly; I think my parents are not responsible or caring enough. I want Sally to be happy and healthy but I think accusing my family of being irresponsible to provoke changes is the wrong move. Any suggestion for what I should do? I personally can't support Sally, but I want to help her condition.

do you go to the dog park with your dog and if so do you watch it or talk to the other dog owners?
what do you do if your dog starts growling /snarling / biting another dog? do you let them sort it out or do you take your dog away?

Largemale dog. all of a sudden he lost control of his hind legs. He got weaker and after 2 days died. I remembered that 2 months ago my sister who lives 8 miles away had 2 dogs that did the same thing. One of them died, the other one is still alive but drags her hind legs and it is painful for her to move. Could this have anything to do with the tainted dogfood?

Jeezo. The old saying "If it wasn't comfortable, he wouldn't sleep like that..." springs to mind.

Yup, my thick-as-mince Chocolate Aussie lab has found a new place to sleep. It's gone on now for about a solid week, and it was my fault for leaving the door open. The bathroom door that is...

Could I find the dog when I came home? No. Where was he first time around? SLEEPING IN THE BATH! I kid you not!

At first I thought it was just him larking around, but I've followed him upstairs on many an occasion now, just to stand and watch him jump into the bath (empty by the way), and lay flat out. 10 minutes pass, and he flips onto his back fully stretched, snoring his head off and rear legs set at quarter to 3! He even gets up in the middle of the night (leaving MY comfy bed) to go sleep surrounded by cold plastic. I know dogs can sleep anywhere, but again..Jeez!

Just thought I'd share that with y'all. I'll look for the K9 psychiatrists phone number first thing tomorrow.
