Pomeranians are the best. So beautiful, intelligent, loving and fun. I just love and adore mine.

I personally like the Rough Coat Collie...they are intelligent and beautiful with there full coat
To answer your question it depends on what you want in a dog, if you are looking for a great hunting companion then any of the Setter breeds would be great,
if you are looking for a companion dog to sit on your lap the Chihuahua would be great at that.
If you are looking for a dog that has high energy and loves to be busy, a Jack Russel is a great dog for that.

Jack russells are the best iv had 1 for 10 years now and hes still like a puppy so full of life and they make the best friends..

we are very partial to English Bulldogs. Ours have been very friendly to everyone. They look at all people as someone new to provide pets and scratches. Sometimes they do something that just pleases them and they almost grin and you can tell they are just full of themselves. We started out with pugs, graduated to Bull Mastiffs (really liked them too) then had an English Setter, and now have had Bulldogs for 15 years. Great Pets

All kinds of dogs are gorgeous, although, I do not like Yorkies much, I used to own 3, and they were yappy, untrainable, and very dirty. I loved them, but was kind of relieved when they eventually passed away at very old ages, ( around 17 ) Boy did they make my house stink!!!! I now have a cross breed rescue, and he is the bee's knee's. I adore him.

Depends on the situation.. my favorite breed is the Irish Wolfhound, but they aren't for everyone.. (and I am not in a good situation to have one at the moment)..
Every breed , hell, every individual dog would be perfect for someone.. it's just a matter of finding out what you want/need out of the dog, and what you can give ..

My favorite is the American Cocker Spaniel. They are very affectionate, intelligent, and do well with training. They are beautiful dogs with a wonderful personality. They are good with children, and their temperament is excellent for a family dog.
