I just asked a simple question PEOPLE!!There is no need to be rude and ask if I would sleep with my half brother or bang my half brother. I knew the answer to what I asked . I had to prove the other owners wrong.. So some of you need to really grow up alittle bit what are you 12?

Alot of times to get the "perfect" dog, breeders will inbreed (if needed) to fix certain traits. In fact, the pedigrees of some dogs show that many of them are inbred. It also happens in nature alot as well, two packs of wolves can quickly become inbred. There are cons to this such as genetic deformations. My family and I own a sled dog kennel and we have bred mother to son, father to daughter and have never gotten a single puppy who has had any physical deformations. Sometimes certain puppies will have weaker immune systems and die. But this happens with or without inbreeding.

This results in inbreeding, which can give the puppies serious health problems. This is not a good idea.

There is a difference between linebreeding and inbreeding, but in the end, line breeding is just a milder form of inbreeding. Inbreeding is considered father to daughter, mother to son half-brother to half-sister and full-brother to full-sister.

Line breeding is where a grandmother and grandson or grandfather to granddaughter, aunt to nephew, so on and so on. The resulting litter will have common genes from the two dogs but not nearly as many as in an inbreeding case.

Breeders do sometime use line breeding to help double the chances of getting desirable qualities or traits that they want out of a certain breed, ie: head shape.

Please reconsider breeding your dog and your friend's together and have both of the animals fixed.

I would never do this. The inbreeding is so close that your chances of having sick puppies is too great. Why risk it?

If you like the combination so much, why not just buy another pet from the breeder so that you own another half-sibling? Even on my pedigrees where I know the past 5 generations have been health screened, I wouldn't do it. It could cause you and the new owners too much heart break.

Plus, you know Pugs can have trouble whelping so you could loose the *****. Just love 'em and spay 'em.

No, definitely not a good idea.

If the female dogs' owners don't know this kind of stuff already, they really need to learn some things before they breed her to ANY male dog. If they can't figure out something this simple, what are they going to do when their female starts having birth complications (which are common in Pugs?)

Yet another irresponsible dog breeder in the making.....sad, really

It's called inbreeding and it is bad, No you can't breed them, there could be serious problems with the puppies.

no breeding them will double the puppy's chances of being more unhealthly as they grow.
