Call up another vet and ask for a second opinion.
You shouldn't wait for three weeks because she is probably in pain and suffering. Maybe she has a bowel obstruction. Find a vet who is able to give you a diagnosis.
Make sure she has a bowl of clean, fresh water available to her all the time. Water is important as it moves through the body and allows waste matter to move out and it refreshes all the cells in the body.

How old is your dog and what kind of dog is she? How long has this been happening? The reason I ask is because my little dog Meemo went through I think a traumatizing thing for him. Dogs can get depressed too. My dad accidently ran over him when he was backing out of the garage. My dog is a shih tzu so it would be hard to see him under the tire. Well we took him to the vet and he was shaking all day. He wouldnt go near my dad for almost a month and would barely eat anything or drink. He was sad. He didnt want to play or let anyone touch him. But he grew out of it thank god. He was 1 at the time. He is going to be 4 in a few months. Im thinking maybe something happened to her and she is a little depressed. Im surprised your vet didnt mention it. Giver her lots of love.

Well, if it were my dog, I'd take her to another vet for a second opinion. Obviously there is something wrong. What do you mean by your dad's giving her to the middle of November? Then what? Dogs are not toys to discard when something goes wrong with them. You need to seek help and find out what the problem is and fix it.

Going to the toilet is very important, she could die otherwise. The vet should give her something to go to the toilet. Her muscles are getting weak from lack of exercises and she shold have had food that gives good bowel movement,How old is she. Give her a laxative powdered in a bowl of milk and a little sugar. Hope that will cure the constipation and make her more active.Constipation can kill us also.

Try a new vet. Fast. And try very hard to convince your dad to give the dog longer. Barkbytes has medical conditions listed with descriptions, maybe that could help you.

You need a new vet. Good luck.

Is she really old? Get a second opinion from another vet.
Any number of dog maladies or even a combination could be the cause for her condition. Sounds like her digestive system is shutting down. Could be some kind of poison. Poisoning is often difficult to diagnose and treat. Maybe some kind of extreme allergy. Contact a school or university of veterinary medicine. They will have the best trained or recent research to help your pet.

It could be a number of things, including cancer. Chances are, if she keeps not eating, she won't make it much past the middle of November anyway. If you've already taken her to a vet, I would maybe suggest taking her to a second one for a new opinion. Maybe new diagnostics will show something, or the new vet will have other ideas to get her to eat.
There may be a small chance she is sensitive to her current food, or that she does not like it (my dog did that, and seriously, sooner starved than ate it). Try some wet (canned) food, like Pedigree steak flavor, or something high calorie and better tasting. (That's what we had to do for Tidus.) It may get her to eat.
Please do keep me posted (email me) and let me know if a new food maybe helps!
Best of luck, and my heart goes out to you. I know how heart-wrenching it is. (I've lost pets too.)

Please try and let me know

well try a soft food or something new. also try putting like bbq sauce on her food or soak it in water. that always works 4 my dog. also u could try putting a stool softener in a piece of cheese and slipping that 2 her.
I hope ur doggie feels better soon!!!
also another problem could be her age. if she is like over 9 or 11 that could be a reason 2. because older dogs tend 2 slow down as they get older and do not eat as much.

I'm pre vet. Best opinion, get a second opinion. Also does she have her shots, is she older, and did the vet test her blood for everything. I know some vets can be expensive but its well worth it to have your baby around longer. Goodluck***

OK ... Is it possible that the vet DID know and that your dad ALSO knows .. but he doesn't want to hurt you ?
(parents sometimes go about things in strange ways to try and make it easier and it ends up making it worse...Long personal story NOT being written)
If that's not the case .. a second opionion IS required...
