Can you tell me the symptoms your dog had and how it was diagnosed, also if your dog had surgery how much did it cost?
My dog is being ruled out for that right now. Have to wait on the blood tests until next week.
Please share EXPERIENCES as I am fully capeable of doing a Google search on my own.
Thanks!

CS thanks for info. My dog doesnt have those symptoms but she is tetraparetic and it worsens the more she is active, better after a long rest. If this is ruled out our next step is $1100 for an MRI :-O,

I have personally never owned one, but have seen several cases. Most present with low blood sugar, seizures or failure to thrive (not putting on weight etc). Some present in shock from all the toxins there not able to rid from their bodies. Most do very well with the surgery, which is necessary in nearly all cases. In my area, the surgery is typically only done by a boarded surgeon, and the cost for the surgery itself is usually 1500-2500, but if they have been in crisis and at the hospital for a few days before, the cost is of course higher. Good luck, I hope your pup does well.

I have had a foster kitten and a foster pup with a shunt. Both ended BADLY to say the least. The kitten had other conditions that added to his complications.
The pup was a Yorki mix and was very small. He had trouble gaining weight and did not grow properly. His blood sugar would drop and he had seizures.
He had surgery, which was about $1,700, but he died three days after the procedure.
