I have a 10 week old boxer that has been dewormed and had his first round of puppy shots. Is it ok to board him? I will be gone for 2 weeks.

Okay so I have 3 dogs, 4 cats, a rabbit and a ferret......which one should I love the most? Maybe I should tell you about them.....one is a Malamute 7 year old male, one is a APBT/Golden retriever mix and one is a chihuahua. My cats are all domestic shorthair and my rabbit is a lionhead. My ferret is white with a black tail.

They are all so cute. They are already named but maybe you can think of great names for my dogs with out ever meeting me or them, even though they are 7,6 and 7 I am sure they won't mind.

Oh, and too bad they are all spayed and neutered or I could have bred them with eachother and had APBT/GOLDEN RETRIEVERS/MALAMUTE/CHIHUAHUA mixes that I could have given to people on the street and never assessed their home.

So what do you think? Should I love the dogs, the cats, the rabbit or the ferret most? What should their names be?

Oh and if you can tell me how to give veterinary care at home without costing me anything that would be awesome!!!!

I was wondering if anyone could tell me some good websites or books I could read to learn more about this dog. This male Presa Canario came from the same area as my pit bull, and the woman who owns him believes that my dog is one of his off spring, as she bred him with a pit bull. My dog came from the shelter where I work, as a stray. I have never heard of this breed, and I am interested in learning more about them. So any information would help! Thanks in advance.

I have a 5 almost 6 year old Rottweiler. He started this on Wednesday, October 25th, 2007. He was laying down and I seen a few drops of blood come out of his penis. So today I watched him urinate out side and there wasn't blood well at least I couldn't see any. Than later on today a few minutes ago I found 2 blood drops on the floor.

I don't have any extra money for vet care right now! What should I do....does anyone know what this could be?

I have a 5 month old Enlish Springer Spaniel and i have never been able to walk him on the lead without him pulling so hard on the lead that he practically chokes himself, but he doesn't learn if he stops pulling he won't choke, i've tried turning and walking the other way but he just leaps ahead, i've tried stopping altogether, he stops but then as i walk on again he gallops off again, i've also done the up and down the garden thing with treats and he does it perfectly but as soon as we get out the gate he's off and if he does come to heal for a split second i say good boy and offer a treat straight away but he's not interested he just wants to leap ahead again.
Please any advise will be much appreciated as it's got to the point where i don't want to walk him as i don't want him to keep choking himself the whole time we're out

I have recently rescued a 3 week old pitbull puppy from some negligent owners.. I am bottle feeding her and socializing and handling her.. and she will be getting her first set of shots before going to her new home at 8 weeks old.. I don't want my time and efforts wasted by placing her in another negligent home that cannot provide the proper care for her, so my adoption fee is to ensure that.. However, I am unsure as to what is a good adoption fee.. Any suggestions?

I only ask, because the other day he ripped his toe nail off running hard in the driveway. He hasn't limped or anything. I noticed it right away because of the blood trail. I immediately used Kwik Stop Styptic Powder with benzocaine, but he never seemed to notice.
I know he can feel pain, and that's got to hurt. So why didn't he notice?

If you count the costs of your dog.... vet visits only..... check-ups, shots, and emergencies, how much does it cost yearly? Only vet visits.

Also food and that kind of stuff how much does that cost yearly?

how much does pet insurance cost?

answer each seperately.

It's been 2 days and I'm worried. I gave her Hill's Science Diet(because it was free) and now Nutro small bites for puppies because that's what a lot of dog owners suggested. Also, I started with dry food. Is wet food better?

We are looking to adopt a puppy and want to be sure the pup isn't too young to leave its mother and litter mates. Most pet stores begin adopting out at 8wks but breeders seem to adopt at 12wks. Thanks!!

My neighbor's dog barks all day. I saw an ad for a device that sends out a annoying (to dogs) sonic sound to the dog whenever it barks. Has anyone used this device successfully. Thanks.

I would like opinions on the situation I have found myself in. Yesterday, we found a young beagle pup that had been placed in our front yard. She was attached to a makeshift leash, and had no tags of any kind. She is extremely underfed, I believe she may have intestinal worms also. Her tail is broken also. I feel that I could post flyers about the pup, but feel that whoever owns her has really been neglecting her. My husband and I have another dog and they get along very well. I have given her a bath and scheduled a vet appointment to have her checked out. We feel we would like to keep her. Has anyone found themselves in a similar situation before? What are your thoughts on our decision to keep her?

My sister just had her 3 month old female pug spayed. The vet apparently had trouble getting her anesthetized and did the surgery without anesthesia. As far as we know he didn't even use Valium or a local anesthetic either. I want to hear from some one who knows, is that safe for the dog? Obviously I wouldn't want someone doing surgery on me without anesthesia....please let me know!!

Thanks =)
