It's been 2 days and I'm worried. I gave her Hill's Science Diet(because it was free) and now Nutro small bites for puppies because that's what a lot of dog owners suggested. Also, I started with dry food. Is wet food better?

I have four chihuahua's. Chihuahua's can get hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) very quickly so you need to get him/her eating. Try wet food and if your puppy is eating it then use it for a while. Later on you can try mixing in some dry food with it and then slowly weaning him/her off the wet food. If that doesn't work then try cooked white chicken. Not the skin or fatty parts. Tear off some strips and feed it to her. Is she drinking water? If not try low sodium chicken broth. Call the vet and do not wait too long there could be something seriously wrong.

I am sorry if this offends many but I have been breeding shihuahuas for 20 + years and I have always fed Purina Puppy chow. My vet says my dogs and pups are very healthy and have good coats.
Teh pup should be with mom until 8-10 weeks. You may need to moisten the food some and give that 3 times a day and provide some dry to nibble on throughout the day.
I am also inslosing a puppy weight chart I have found it to be very accurate in determining how big your pup will be full grown.
You should also get Nutrical as chis are known for low blood sugar and they can have seizures a real concern if not eating.
Also for now you can give hm about 1/4 teaspoon of honey directly on his tongue about 2 times a day as well as put a teaspoon of honmey in the water ( this can be done all the time) have this as his daily water it will keep the sugar up.
Any other questions feel free to email me

DO NOT go with soft food 24/7. It is very bad for their teeth, gums, and overall health. The food that we use is Canidae. It is very nutritional; and good for them. It is a little on the pricey side, but that is another good sign that it is good for them.

To find more info about it: www.canidae.com

try soaking it in milk...like cereal. That usually does the trick. I dont know if they sell it anymore, but you can try the powered milk...just add water. might be a cheaper method
