have love for a golden retriever i love them so much that i no that they are good family companions that there powerful, active dog, sound and well put together, not clumsy nor long in the leg, displaying a kindly expression and possessing a personality that is eager, alert and self-confident. Primarily a hunting dog, and Friendly, reliable, and trustworthy. Quarrelsomeness or hostility towards other dogs or people in normal situations, or an unwarranted show of timidity or nervousness, is not in keeping with Golden Retriever character. Such actions should be penalized according to their significance. There my favorite i am trying to get one two.

I assume you are wanting a website with basic information for potential owners of the breed? If so, here:

If you're wanting to find local Golden Retrievers in need of a home, consider searching Petfinder.com for them....don't focus on the idea of a puppy, you could find a young adult that would fit into your family perfectly.

Hi! Yes they are the best dogs as far as I'm concerned too. Never get a Golden from a pet store. Petland gets their dogs from puppy mills and puppy brokers. Very bad.
You have to do your homework and find a very good breeders for these beautiful dogs. This may take some time but it will be very much worth it. Some one already post the web site to the Golden Retriever Club of America. They do have a breeder referral listing on their site. I suggest you start there. Also Pet-finder is not bad but you have to be careful there too. Expect to pay a bit more for a quality Golden but it will be worth it for a health Golden who will be with you for a very long time.

Best of luck!

I want a dog too and am not allowed one (yet!) I agree - Golden Retrievers are absolutely gorgeous dogs!
You must be careful about which breeder you get them from and be sure they're free of any inherited health problems because it will cost you a lot later.
www.epupz.com is really great (or www.epupz.co.uk if you live in the UK). Loads of breeders advertise on there, so you should find something.

Good Luck!!

I think its best to go to AKC American Kennel club WWW.AKC.org They have all the information on different and similar breeds, breed standards, expectations and certain characteristics of each breed.
It also contains great links for breeders in your area as well as rescue and shelter organizations for your particular breed.
They're great dogs, good luck!

Go to Petland and find the puppy of your dreams. You may find another breed you like as much as goldies such as labs, boxers or others. It's good to see all the different breeds together. Then you can compare.
