so, my dog has this little issue with getting a little too friendly, if you know what i mean.
we cant get him stuffed animals because he just goes at them.
and he tries to hump my other dog and me!
i really do not want him to do this, as it is just a little bit gross (i consider him my son so it is very awkward lol)
so if you know any ideas as to how i can get him to stop doing this, tell me please.

A friend of mine just bought a 3 month old chihuahua and it loves her so much, but the little thing just hates her husband. It keeps growling and nipping at him. Is there a reason for this?

My dog "Tiny" has had a very lucky life, we got her when she was around 8weeks old. She is a small mixed dog and she is now 9 years old.

When she was young she got hit by a big bus, she lost alot of blood and was rushed to the vet, when we took her home she hardly moved for like a few weeks, she eventually fully recovered and was fine.

Around a year after she got shot and again was rushed to the vet and recovered quite fast. Then was her first pregnancy, the puppies were way to big and it got to the stage she could barely move, again we rushed her to the vet where she had an emergency C-Section and she was quite weak for a good few weeks.

I thnk at some stage she got hit by a car but she was fine, she fell down the stairs which she has never since went up them again and now she could be pregnant for the second time.

She is very healthy, friendly and loves long walks.

Does anyone else have any miracle stories about their dogs?

Hi All, I have just rescued a Neapolitan Mastiff from the pound with Cherry eye in both eyes, this is common in the breed but does anyone know if the surgery is simple or can it be treated without surgery?? Her previous owner gave her up because they didn't want to pay for surgery. Thanks All

My dog got neutered 7 days ago, and is currently wearing an E-collar, We got told he has to wear it for 10 days so he gets it off on monday.

The problem is he snapped his 1st E-collar when he was trying to attack a cat in the garden, and hes now on his 2nd e-collar, which has started to split at the back...

We tried taping up his other collar but it didnt work for long! if this new one starts to split, what should we do as hes only got 3 more days to go?

I have a two year old female weimaraner(Sadie). When I originally bought her as a pup, the breeder said that she was getting them registered. After I paid however, there were "complications". Apparently the Grandmother (owned by another breeder) was in contention and that breeder disappeared. Sadie had two older siblings, whose owners we met, that were show dogs and AKC was suddenly threatening to pull their papers for which they threatened to sue. At the time the breeder stayed in contact with me. Now I can't reach her at all and cannot even locate her. I want to have her registered but I am unsure how to go about it. I have had several people who show, say Sadie is a wonderful representation of her breed. What can I do or are my hands tied on this matter?

I have spoiled my Lab so bad as far as eating is concerned it is rediculas! I buy these bags of shreaded cheese to mix with his hard food.If I don't put some kind of "inhancer" in his food,I really believe he would starve himself to death.I know milk is off limits, but I didn't know about cheese.I do know that it doesn't constipate him like it does some humans.
A guy told me one time that his dog ate turnips! When I said that my dog probably wouldn't eat turnips,he said "Mine wouldn't either the 1st month".Never laughed so hard in my life!
Any Answers concerning the cheese almost daily in his diet? Thanks!

I have two golden retreivers and they are crated when I am not there. For a while everything was great, they are both a year old now and they started chewing the floor to the crate, we have gone through three different floors now, and I am at my witts end. They have toys, they are taken for runs everyday, they finished teething months ago, I am out of ideas!

If I have my St. Bernard treated for heart worm prevention every month at our vet's office, does that protect her from all worms...or ONLY heartworms?
And if she does have any worms now (not heartworms, one of the other kind), and we go ahead and start her on the heartworm, will that kill any that she may have now?

I have a St. Bernard who used to have worms. She was so skinny until we got he dewormed and then she gained some weight. She has never been a BIG dog, but to me she still looks thinner then any other St. Bernard I've ever seen. And she eats a lot. So I'm starting to wonder if she may have worms again. It's been almost a year since she was last dewormed. I'm just wondering why having worms causes them to be thinner, and how dangerous is it really? I understand the dangers behind heart worms, but as far as the other types go.

Are there any good home remedies to keep fles and ticks off of dogs that run in the woods all the time. I have tried frontline, k9 adv. and advantage. None of these work. I can't keep them out of the woods either cause when I let them go outside they are walking straight into the woods. Please help me.

I don't mean to be arrogant, but dogs are useless animals who never shut up at night and are totally nasty.

I really want it to be a law like that. I am so tired of seeing dogs laying on the road dead and cars just passing over them like nothing. I think its so cruel! I understand that sometimes it can be an accident and owners should be very careful that there dogs aren't carelessly running around. But there are also some very cruel people out there! I've seen them! About six years ago my chihuahua got it by a car. I took him outside to do his business but like he was so little he manage to get out through a bar fence we had. My friend and I quickly went after him but he was crossing the street and the light was turning green for cars to pass by. He got hit by a truck that was going too fast, didn't care to slow down even though it was apparent two little girls were trying to get their dog. He just killed my dog in front of me and left like nothing! I was soooo sad and I'm never going to forget about it. That's not all I've seen other incidents that I know people are cruel!

My 7 month old beagle puppy has hook worms. My question is does that mean I could contract them too? My friends told me that its possible that Miss Bridget (The pup) could have passed them on to me.

Our 7 month old Springer Spaniel WAS housetrained. I worked so hard with her, was very patient, lots of praise and had her urinating in one spot in the yard only. She went almost 3 months with no accidents in the house, then we got her spayed (at 6 months of age).

Right after the operation she had a few accidents but seemed to be getting back to herself. About two weeks ago however, she peed on the kitchen floor and my husband stepped in it. He called her over, yelled, stuck her nose in it and smacked her rear end (all counterproductive and stupid moves, I know!).

So, now every time he comes home, she squats and pees as soon as she sees him (on the carpet, in her bed, wherever!). I am pretty sure this is submissive urination; what I'd like to know is what can he do to reverse the situation he has created?

Please, if you can help it would be VERY much appreciated.

Oh, and my husband has learned his lesson (I hope); I make HIM clean up the messes she makes now!!!
