they usually have a lighter shade of hair there..sort of like a flag effect.. I believe it is meant as an attractant..Lighter color means finer texture..It is an aggravating feature in long haired breeds, as finer hair gets matted easier, yet is in the most tender place to brush.
The exceptions would be dogs of one dark color, such as a black Labrador..

Well.. dogs have hair all over, the hair in pubic area is same as rest of belly. So no, not specific to pubic area.

Interesting question. I guess technically they would since it is just hair covering the pubic region. It isn't very different than the rest of the fur on their body though like it is on humans.

They just have general hair, I doubt that of the pubic region is very different in makeup to the rest of it.

I guess. People have answered that they have hair all over, but really, their bellies are bare and they do have hair on their genitals. So, I guess that would qualify.
I have no idea if they're born that way or develop it in puberty like humans do. Growing up, my parents raised Dobermans, but I don't remember if the pups had hair there or not.

Yes when my male dog rolls over on his back with his penis exposed in all it's glory there is darker, longer hair on his balls than anywhere else on his body. If you don't call it pubic hair I don't know what kind of hair it would be.

Technically, no. Only humans have what is labeled a "pubic mound" upon which hair grows. Although, eyebrows and underarm hair are also considered "pubic".
This is an R&S thing, isnt it? :)

Why don't you just look? No, they don't. Well they do have their regular dog hair around there but nothing like what we have - our pubes are just there to keep our bits warm, left over from when we too were covered with hair.

Yes my dalmatian has a thin layer of hair on her vulva. If they didn't their privates would be cold! For males I think the actual penis is inside the body though so doesn't need it. The flap of skin on the outside does have hair though.
