I have two dogs and Frontline them once a month. The problem I am having is that once they have been done they start licking each other's backs where the Frontline is. Not only am I afraid it may be harming them but also reducing the effectiveness of the frontline. They hate being split up so just wondered if it will actually do them any harm

Yes, I love dogs. All dogs equally. I have had mutts. I know how many dogs are put to sleep because no one wants them. I belong to an organization that helps people spay/neuter their pets if they can't afford it. I have 2 AKC Shelties that are show quality, extremely smart, excel in agility and obedience, have wonderful personalities and I'd like to breed them! What's wrong with that? Yes, I could've gotten 2 mutts from the shelter but I wanted Sheltie pups that I could show and possibly breed. I don't think there is ANYTHING wrong with that. I have money to afford this, I already have names and numbers of responsible people who would want their pups and I have no kids and only my partner works so I have all the time in the world for these dogs! Every time I ask a breeding question, EVERYONE says "Don't you realize how many unwanted pets there are?" Yes. However, these are wanted. And it REALLY UPSETS me when breeders lecture me! They were beginners once too! STOP IT!

We just got a puppy. She is 12 weeks old and came with shot and worming records. However, she still has worms. I plan to treat her again in the next day or so, but my question is about my kids. She actually has flat little white worms that come out of her body. Can they be harmful to my kids? They are 2 and 3 years old and I am very worried that they will get sick from them. Anyone know anything about this?

I'm getting ready to enter my dog in UKC AG1. I would like to start training her for weaving in AG2 as well as if we decide to do AKC. I've been practicing at the agility club with a set of 6 poles which I bend down and have her go thru the middle. For some reason, the instructors don't use those guide wires but don't those work well in weave pole training? What has been your best experience in training a dog to be proficient in the weave poles? This is my first experience with agility. I have a 11 month old Sheltie who according to the instructors is a "natural". All mistakes made are because of me! She goes thru the poles slowly right now. She goes thru the course fast but not nearly as fast as she can. Is this because I need to work on "distance"? Is she going slower because of me most likely? I mean, I can run preety fast but no where near as fast as she can! So my 2 questions are about the poles and speed. Will she get faster as I improve?

1 of my dogs routinely chews/gnaws/breaks through our screened in porch. 5 times in the last month. I have made several barriers, put both of them in kennels, yet during their time out of the kennels one will repeatedly find a way off the porch. It is extremely frustrating and my wife wants to get rid of them. I can't handle that.

I have a 4 month old pug, with tons of energy. He loves everyone and everything, but he absolutely adores other animals. Cat's are his favorite, but since I recently lost my cat due to old age/illness I don't think I'm ready for another one. He get play dates with my friends pug whenever we can make it happen. I also have a much older dog, a toy poodle at the age of 10, who loves my pug, but just doesn't have it in her to play with him quite to way he'd like. She's at that age where she hides away in the bedroom, and only comes around when she wants to go out. We do live on a farm, and we're constanly outside working. Our pug is outside when we are, just doesn't get that sort of play that really wears him down and helps him sleep better at night. So, I'm considering adopting a dog. Do you think this is a wise decision? To adopt a dog wanting it to be a play mate for another? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have another dog, but has anyone else done this and had it work out successfuly?

i am really getting pissed off at my dog. he barks at every person he sees and every dog he sees from a while away. i am very desperate to get him to stop. do not give me the usual 'say NO' IT IS NOT WORKING. my neighbours said that if she hears him back one more time she'll call animal control and take him away. please give me a fast, effective way to stop his barking. i have had patience with him for a year now but it hasnt stopped. he is a jack russell, very hyper and i cant catch him

I have two cats, both of which are spoiled rotten. My oldest cat is the dominant one and she was none too happy when we got our newest kitty. My younger kitty, I thought, was a sweetie, but after we got our older cat shaved, she hissed at her for 3 days straight. I'm really scared to introduce a dog into the situation. I want a dog for sure, but am not sure how to do this. Does anyone have any suggestions? We want a puppy, not an adult dog.

He's never had any shots, no heartworm treatments, distemper, nothing. We would like to get him all the care he needs, but we've only dealt with puppies. What kind of shots will he need at this age? What can we expect for price for all this?

I'm selling an 8 month old pure breed MinPin. She's great w/ kids, and has her papers, though we haven't yet registered her. She has a grade 1 heart murmer, which is not at all life-altering. She hasn't had shots or been dewormed; she hasn't been fixed. We're selling her b/c she won't potty-train and i've lost patience. We paid 320 for her... what should we try to sell her for?
