I'm selling an 8 month old pure breed MinPin. She's great w/ kids, and has her papers, though we haven't yet registered her. She has a grade 1 heart murmer, which is not at all life-altering. She hasn't had shots or been dewormed; she hasn't been fixed. We're selling her b/c she won't potty-train and i've lost patience. We paid 320 for her... what should we try to sell her for?

Ok, listen. My question was how much we should ask. I didn't ask if i was a good, moral person. But just to clear things up, let me at least defend myself. I have a mixed breed mut that we adopted three years ago. I've trained her, spoiled her, potty trained her, and love her to death. She sleeps at the foot of my bed every nite and generally has the run of the house. When we bought Fiona, our minpin, i wasn't aware that we were about to experience financial troubles and i would have to take on a job babysitting four kids to keep us afloat. W/ four children, plus my own, in the house each day, it's difficult to keep on Fiona. I've tried and tried to potty train her, going as far as to set the timer and take her out every twenty minutes to do her business. She's stubborn, and though she's loving, she's mischevious. I love her and will certainly make sure she goes to a good home, but i don't need all of you dog freaks ranting and raving to me about what a bad person i am!

Good on ya girl. Some of these people can get mean and nasty about the way you take care of you pets. I used to breed (and yes all you nasty ones out there I said BREED) min pins. AKC registered min pins. We charged $250 for the boys and $300 for the girls. A heart murmur is a drop in price. But thats okay. Min pins are VERY VERY VERY hard to house train, and most of the time, from my expierience, it doesn't always stick with them. But they are housetrainable. If you want anymore info on Min Pins, feel free to contact me. With the girls that I had, I've had more than 10 litters. I'll be around to help you if ya need it.

Well first of all she's still young yet potty training doesn't come easy in every dog. If you adopted one before and had the time and patience for that one why don't you have that for this one. If you needed to take on extra jobs you should be able to pay for the shots and spaying this dog needs. Now the new owner will have to pay unexpected costs that should have been done before they get a dog from u. Your not a bad person completely but you should have sorta thought things through before you got this dog its not fair to her that you can't have the patience to help her potty train and the money to take care of her. You have the money to take care of your other dog you should have money to take care of her to. But I would maybe sell her for like 150 or 200 something like that since the new owners will now have to pick up from where you left off with taking care of her by getting her all the shots she needs which is a few, and to be spayed. But next time think things through. I have a dog with a grade 1 heart murmer and I'd never give him up just cause he's old and has a heart problem. He's the best thing that's in my life and I would take care of him till the day he's not here no more. Just give her a second chance and have more patience or if you must give her up which is probably the best just think about what the new owner has to pay for too. Atleast hopefully the new owner will have more patience and love and understanding for her.

Not just a bad dog person but a bad kid person too. What the heck did you have kids for if you weren't financially independent?!

This is how it works: first you get a good education, then the well-paying job (due to the good education), then you buy property, then you get married (if you want to), and then and ONLY after all the other criteria have been met first do you even begin to think about cranking out kids! Oh sure, people have done it in reverse order, but it takes longer and its tougher and it shortchanges the children.

Even the birds of the air know to make the nest BEFORE you lay the eggs.

And now when tough times come, all of a sudden loyalty flies out the window. So you've "lost patience." Tsk, tsk. Yes, we wouldn't want the dog and their life to 'inconvenience' you!

SHAME ON YOU!!!!! You have given this dog NOTHING. No health care whatsoever, and too da_n lazy to house break her and now you want MONEY for her? OH dear Lord...Give her up to rescue, not a kill pound, by any means. How in the heck are you going to sell a dog with a heart murmur, who needs to be spayed and has never been dewormed or had shots! You have got to be kidding. Rescue will take care of her, which is more than you ever did. Take my advice and don't get another dog, EVER!!!!

In the first place "Shame on You!" You have an 8 mo old dog that has not current on shots. That is neglect. With her health problem, keeping up to date with vacinations is a must. Any illness could kill her with a heart murmer, especially in a toy breed. You need to worry about finding this dog a good home, not trying to "recoup" your losses. People with your attitude don't deserve to have pets.

What you should HAVE done is researched breeds before you bought her home. Smaller dogs can be very stubborn and difficult to housetrain, but it is NOT impossible! It is pretty sad to place the blame on the dog because you do not have the patience. The only one to blame for her naughtiness is you.
On a side note, I sincerely hope you are not trying to get rid of her because of her heart mumor. That would be just sad.
If you do intend to sell her, it should be a small rehoming fee, or nothing at all. She will have this heart defect for life, but she will not always be non-housetrained.

Sigh...

Not vaccinated OR wormed? Do you care about her health at ALL? Did you not RESEARCH what you need to do with a puppy? Why isn't she fixed? Worm her, spay her and give her a set of vaccinations then sell her for $150. Do NOT "forget" to tell buyers of her heart murmur and that she isn't housebroken. You obviously haven't tried too hard to housebreak her because Min Pins are extremely smart but require PATIENCE. Didn't you research the breed?

the answer you want to hear : 320.

my honest answer as a Breeder/pet owner for 16 years?
Nothing.

At this point in the dogs life you have trained her NOT to be housebroken, you have not registered her, altho at 320 im wondering where you got a registered minpin. You have not gotten her shots, which i do not get either... so basicly you are giving someone a dog that may die because she wasnt properly innoculated as a puppy, puppy shots are VERY important.

We breed Chihuahuas and they are a 'hot' breed right now ( not at all the reason we breed them) and with papers they go for 1,000 plus. with limited registration ( i/e they must be spayed to be reg.) they go for around 700 and with no puppies, I/e someone stands our stud dog , we get about 400.00. thats in CT tho. we deal mostly with CT/Ny.

I would look for a breed rescue at this point, im sure you are great people but there have also been people known to 'adopt' i/e spend less than 300 . 00 on toy breeds to use as bait dogs for pit bull rings. nothing against the bullys but I would hate to see a sweet toy die.

And for the person who suggested Next day pets???! Do you know that those dogs come from mothers who are bred, bred , and bred again and lay in a 3x3 wire cage and puppies are sold sick, cheap and defective 9x out of 10? imagine starting life with your mom and several dead brothers and sisters crammed into a cage. Thats puppy mill life, and those my friend are puppy mill dogs.

i'm going to commence via asserting doggies ARE no longer basic. I too had rigidity assaults, I panicked and theory i bypass to SUCK as this doggies proprietor. sure, they take a large number of time, they are time eating, yet once you and your companion have been given the domestic dog on a schedule from the minute you extra it homestead life would have been plenty much less annoying. doggies are babies that poop outdoors, yet i'm going to tell you one difficulty, it gets much less annoying and then this is not any longer as time eating, you're starting to be time along with your companion and rather it purely consumes greater or less six months then it gets gradually much less annoying. Now so a techniques because it being needy, nicely doggies are yet you apart from mght would desire to enable them to cry each specifically circumstances so as that they study to get alongside without you there continuously. New canines proprietors continually finally end up making a rod for their very own backs, yet stay and study. you will experience undesirable yet over the years this is going to decrease and in case you experience you somewhat are no longer waiting for certainly one of those massive accountability then you definitely did the ultimate suited difficulty. no one will ever inform you that the domestic dog section is easy, simply by fact this is not any longer, besides the indisputable fact that this is purely a piece. I now have a impressive 4 year previous Weimaraner that I spend 2 hours an afternoon workout consultation on the canines park, going for motorbike rides, she accompanies me on journeys and rides to the keep, she is unquestionably one of those exhilaration to have simply by fact I spent the 1st couple of years coaching her. the toughest section replaced into the 1st six months, then it have been given somewhat much less annoying, after a year it replaced into no longer as time eating, and it have been given much less annoying and much less annoying. you purely would desire to be arranged to do a large number of paintings up front, this is like having a infant, the 1st few years are perplexing and then simply by fact the new child grows up they grow to be plenty much less annoying, canines are the comparable way. while you're no longer waiting then you definitely did the domestic dog a prefer so which you would be able to no longer experience responsible for doing the ultimate suited difficulty.

You are a irresonsible owner to have a 8month pup with No Shots & No Deworming! Why did you get her?

You should be happy to find a 4-ever home that will love & take care of that dog! Forget about the money because these people now have to pay for shots ect... & at 8 mths if she has worms they can be harder to get rid of.

Pactience is impotant with dogs so why did you bother getting one if you were not willing to have them!!
