My dog follows my mom around the house and even sleeps with her. I know he has seperation anxiety. When she leaves the house he's cool about it. He doesn't make a fuss. But when she returns he becomes so excited and uncontrolable, constantly barking. I'm the only one in my house that feels like it's not nornal for the dog to do that. Am I crazy or is the dog crazy or is it my mom? please tell me.

I have enjoyed the pet section so much, but I must say, I am becomming so discouraged that I am ready to leave and never come back. I consider myself a responsble pet owner. I have a Lhasa Apso and a Shih Tzu. They get groomed every 4 weeks, they eat premium dog food, they are both spayed and they are considered members of our family. I have never in my life seen so many people that will let their dog or cat get pregnant and then they come screaming to this group "my dog is in labor, what do I do?" I have also seen questions when pets are in dire need of emergency vet care, and people come here and say "what can I do, besides take him to the vet". I do not consider myelf a perfect person at all, but what the heck is up with all these, and I won't say stupid, but ignorant people in this world? No wonder there are 8 million dogs and cats put to death each year, it is ignorant people. I am out or space. Sorry so long.

I have a golden lab mix about 2.5 years old. He let me look at this black scab on his chest and it's about 3/8" diameter. At first I thought it was a dead tick and when I felt it I got blood on my hand. It has scabbed over again and the dog does NOT want me to look at it again. I'm worried about cancer. Any ideas out there? I can't afford a vet right now, but will take him if i have to.

Everyone has different opinions and i say as long as your not hurting anyone then live and let live.

IE pro-spayed and neuter, Anti-breeding people, Anti-docking and cropping, even those people that claim all people food is poisonous to dogs. These people use scare-tacktics into tricking you into believing their way is the best. Yes some of it is true, but educate yourself before with real scientific evidence before believing.

Anyone have similar difficulties with these people? Do you think they give dog owners a bad name?

Can someone tell me if there are any differences in personality between male and female Great Danes?

Also do they shed alot?

Make good apartment dogs with exercise?

What food should they be on?

What type of toys can a Great Dane have?

How hard are they to housebreak?

Are they a protective breed?

Please don't say go on the AKC website and look, they have great information but most of the articles do not talk specifics that I would like to know especially about personality, thanks so much! Info from owners and breeders would be appreciated, thanks again..

At the starting of 7th grade there was this girl who asked me to be her friend and I said yeah. She was a girl I knew that everyone hated but I thought I'd give her a chance. Now she sends me like 20 emails a day and gets in trouble for talking to me in class. I don't talk back to her, so I don't see why I'M the one who gets in trouble. She is way too honest and tells me all my flaws including my friends. She's such a bugger! And I don't know when to believe her because she ALWAYS lies. She says she doesn't anymore but who knows? She could be lying about THAT TOO! I think I'm obsessed with her, but how can I not? She's always trying to be with me. I've called her many names before like brat, loser, freak and more and I even tell rumors about her but she won't take the hint. She knows I hate her, but she won't leave me alone!

Everytime she gets comfortable on the davenport she lets out a hideous mass of air. Scares the guests away sometimes.

When training your dog "no", is it best that when he comes to you (after stopping doing whatever the "no" pertained to), that you treat him or praise him?

I had a Fox Terrier from the pound, I had him for a year and then he showed some signs of aggression so as much as i didn't want to I had to give him back. Now, i can get any dog that i want (with an exception of a few) We have a family dog, a malamute she's around 10 or 11 loves to play with other dogs. This dog would be a dog for me. I'm looking for a dog that loves to be around people, loves to snuggle, likes to play but not TOO energetic Any Ideas?

Hi,
It has now been 48 hours since I've had to hold my puppy (13 yrs old) and feel him go. I've been crying so hard my eyes are swollen to the point where I don't look right. His name was Normandy and he screamed for a few seconds and his body was fighting. The doctor said it was due to him becoming disoriented, it was terrible and seconds after, he left. It is ripping inside of me. It's been really really hard. I know I did the right thing, but it hurts so much. Please confirm he didn't suffer and he knew we loved him. I'm so heartbroken.
