fab dog and seems to be happy with us ,but his name is kaile pronounced ki al and we dont like his name . whats a good name that sounds similar but not over the top any suggestions welcome thanx

My puppy is adorable ----- when she's sleeping and calm. She is an adorable puppy but when she gets all hyped up, she gets really annoying. Like, biting our hands and feet or scratching the wooden floor. Sometimes, she would even put her paws in her water and it would spill everywhere. I'd really like her to know that what she's doing is wrong so that she wont do it again. I really don't want to hurt her to make her stop. Any suggestions?

My family brought me home cradled in their arms.
They cuddled me and smiled at me and said I was full of charm.
They played with me and laughed with me and showered me with toys.
I sure do love my family, especially the little girls and boys.
The children loved to feed me; they gave me special treats.
They even let me sleep with them - all snuggled in the sheets.
I used to go for walks, often several times a day.
They even fought to hold the leash, I'm very proud to say!
These are the things I'll not forget - a cherished memory.
I now live in the shelter - without my family.
They used to laugh and praise me when I played with that old shoe.
But I didn't know the difference between the old one and the new.
The kids and I would grab a rug, for hours we would tug.
So I thought I did the right thing when I chewed the bedroom rug.
They said I was out of control and would have to live outside.
This I didn't understand, although I tried and tried!
The walks stopped, one by one; they said they hadn't the time.
I wish that I could change things; I wish I knew my crime.
My life became so lonely in the backyard, on a chain.
I barked and barked all day long to keep from going insane.
So they brought me to the shelter but were embarrassed to say why.
They said I caused an allergy, and then they each kissed me goodbye.
If I'd only had some training as a little pup.
I wouldn't have been so hard to handle when I was all grown up.
"You only have one day left", I heard a worker say.
Does that mean I have a second chance?
Do I go home today?

Yesterday I watched an episode of Law and Order at 4:00 on TNT. This pit bull almost killed a child, as did the one on the news in Philadelphia this week.

They said that pits were originally used to keep bulls in line. They also said that a pit can pull a sleigh with weight of 2,00 lbs. They can put the head of a human in their mouth and take if off.

With all the attacts, why are these dogs still in circulation. You can say you have a good one. The show also said that it is not the way the dog is trained. They can become violent at any time for NO reason.

I have two that live a block away, while walking my golden retreiver one came out the door and attacted my dog. I did not report this because of who owns it. (retalliation) A week later the pit was being walked in front of my house on a rope. No tags, no leash. It came up on my porch to the front door and my dog went after it. It took 4 people to get this dog off.

I ask this question because she just started her dog training class last week. Tomorrow is her class and I'm afraid to bring her to class while she is in heat. Would it distract a lot of the dogs there even though it is her first day.

Also, is it okay to spay your dog while she is in heat?

my dog gets a tablet once a month that is supposed to prevent fleas, heartworm and other parasites.
this evening i found a black bug on her tummy. it was about the size of a small freckle, and really fast moving.
why is she getting fleas when she is an inside dog (but she does have access to our lawn area which has no trees), and doesn't really see other dogs much (maybe once or two times a month we will take her to the dog park.
also what to do now?!

I have 3 GIANT breed dogs. (Mastiff, and Great Danes)They all live indoors with me. I am buying my first house and would like to build a dog run. I would hope to have it attached to the house with a doggie door, but anyway it is mainly for them to do their "business" and then they can run around the yard and play. Any suggestion on size and substrate?

Im stuck in the middle of rural asia,, and there are NO vets.
One of the puppies has got an eye infection, it seems hair has gotten into the eye and has caused a hair nest/ cyst to grow in the corner of the eye.
There is no chance for the dog to get medical help, I leave tomorrow ,,,what should I do,, Iv managed to pull some of the hairs out, but am worried to go further. It's a grey lump on the eyeball with hairs growing out of it.

She is an Pit Bull and have had her a month. First all the stuff I do to train her properly:
I walk her, she doesn't walk me (at least one hour a day)

Whenever we ride in the car she must remain in the back, and I make sure she does.

Absolutely no head out of the window

Trying to break her of jumping up to met people, (this is difficult with people that say they don't mind, but I already trained her not to jump on me)

I have already got her kennel/crate trained

now for the spoiling

I wrestle with my dog, (absolutly no biting allowed)

I buy her a new toy every two weeks

I let her sleep in my bed with me, whenever i am home.

Everytime she is in the car with me and I visit a Sonic's drivethru I get her a corndog, (without the stick)

I allow her to be a lapdog (only when I say it is okay)

I carry on conversations with her all the time.

I kiss her head and encourage her to play with my nieces.

I always stomp her butt in tug of war.

My dog has been going to the bathroom in my room for a few months. Everytime I would soak it up with paper towels and use a multi-pupose cleaner so there aren't any spots. It still smells terrible! Recently I shampooed the carpet and pretreated with dog deoderizer - still smells! Any other ideas??? I'm stuck!

i am at boiling point with my dog right now!!!!!!! i take him to the park so he can have a play with other dogs (as i do regularly) and suddenly he sees another dog at the end of the road and runs across the road nearing getting himself killed to smell the other dog. then later, he looks around the park and runs towards a random man and starts barking at him furiously. i used all my vocals and body language telling him NO but he ran away from me and as i tried to lure him with treats, he didn't come. he then saw another dog and ran to it and followed it all the way, i couldn't chase him so i asked the owner of the other dog to grab his collar which he did but then my dog bit struggled and bit him and then ran away again. i finally got him when he was taking a whizz and now he is in so much trouble i feel like killing him.

this has NEVER happened before!

PLEASE HELP ME WITH MY PROBLEM, I NEED IT FIXED EVERY OTHER DOG IS OBEDIENT AND CALM BUT MY DOG IS HYPER

Alright, it's flea season again and two of my dogs have already gotton ticks. I was wondering if somebody could tell me their experiences with any of the above medications. I've heard that Hartz could kill dogs and that Frontline doesn't work. I haven't heard anything on Advantix.. but it's extremely expencive.

Also, do flea collars really work? I'm thinking of getting my dog one.. thanks!

My puppy has a problem riding in cars. She absolutely hates it because she now realizes that getting in the car=getting sick. As soon as we get in the car to go somewhere, she starts salivating REALLY REALLY heavily, and she is not the kind that salivates. She rarely pants. Then eventually she will start throwing up. I have tried not feeding her a few hours before, but she still manages to find something to get out of her stomach. And she'll do it numerous times depending on the length of the car ride (about every 10 minutes). What can I do to help her?
