I can't believe someone above ^^^ said that Ol Roy is the best food. PLEASE do not listen to that person. Ol Roy is one of the worst, if not the worst dog food on the market. You might as well feed your dog saw dust.
Someone else mentioned Innova food, and I agree. That is what I feed my 5 1/2 month old Silky Terrier. Our vet is very happy with this food and he is doing great. His coat is shiny and soft, his eyes are clear, his ears are standing perfectly, and he is overall a very healthy puppy. He was previously on Purina Puppy Chow (what the breeder had him on, not my choice) and he was getting sick on a consist ant basis. He came to us from the breeder with Giardia so we had to have him on a special bland diet. After that we had switched him to Innova and he has been perfect since.
You should check out their website, the person above gave it in their source section. It's a great food and it will do your precious little puppy a lot of good.
In general, a good rule is to stay away from the "popular" brands; including Purina, Eukanuba, Iams etc. They say all the right things, but their food is terrible. Do the research, read the ingredients, talk to a vet.
Good luck with your new puppy!

I breed Chihuahua's, I own #8, and I feed mine Canidae All Life Stages Dry Food. It's human grade, has no corn, wheat, soy, grain fractions, fillers or by products, and it's naturally preserved, so you don't have to worry, about it being recalled. This food is for all stages in a dogs life, from weaning to senior adults, so you don't have to switch, to adult food, when she's old enough, and you can just feed the same food. Chihuahuas tend to be picky little eaters, and I never thought mine would go near it, but the first time I opened the bag and put it down for them, it seemed like they couldn't get enough. It's very reasonably priced. I would get the small bag, and see if she likes it first, and if she does, then you can alway's get a bigger bag later. It comes in 5lb, 20 lb, and 40lb bags. Hope this helps! By the way, Congratulations on your new baby girl! You are going to fall so in love with her!!!

I have a new puppy and my vet told me today to be honest he would not reccomend any dog food until they figure out for sure what is happening.. I ordered Merrick food for my puppy it is organic and is produced in a factory in Texas. So far she is doing great. I lost my beloved shih tzu at the age of 4 years old to the tainted dog food and if I have any problems with this one I will cook for my puppy. I don't think we know the entire story on this recall and they are adding foods and treats daily. Go to Merrick.com and read about their food and decide for yourself but it was the only one I felt comfortable feeding.

Puppy food that says 100% nutrionally complete on the bag, not just complete but 100% for puppies ( good to use both canned & dried foods for little dogs with little mouths ) then as an adult, same thing..just in adult dog food...some people maybe referring to the recent recall of dog & cat foods, but those are no longer available to buy that I'm aware of ( @ least in America & probably anywhere else by now ) poisionings came from foods with ingredients - Wheat Glutin made in China..TC & Peace :)

Its true they are the same brands. You need to get a puppy food that is specifically for small breed puppies. not adult dog food. Also the first thing on the ingredients should be a meat "lamb chicken" and not a vegetable and not a meat by-product.

IAMS puppy food(yelow bag)
after a year switch too small and toy breed mix(green bag).
Keep in mind wet food is not the healthiest thing. Unless your dog can't chew hard food they don't need this stuff.
Definitly make sure the food is formulated for puppies, think of it this way, you would not give a new born human child a milk shake. Puppies have special needs.

With all the pet food recalls going on, I would highly recommend you talk to a local vet.
There is alot of talk that feeding your pets regular 'people' food, I am not sure what would be safe for a small puppy.
So, I would highly recommend talking to a vet for guidance.

The best food out there is Innova. It is not in the mass market, so they havent cheapened their ingredients like Nutro or PurinaONE has. Look them up on the internet, you will find no other food compares.

no rely if this is a pink eared slider("dimestore turtle") then you definitely would be high quality feeding it as much as this is going to consume in 7 or 8 minutes as quickly as an afternoon or 2. besides the indisputable fact that it would help to comprehend the species and length.
