for worming puppies with round worms and tape worms. Also, a safe, all natural preventative. Many thanks.

I go to a holistic vet and we try to use the most natural things we can. When he had worms as a puppy he was given a conventional medication because it is more effective. As prevention, there is a spray that we use made with citronella which helps ward off bugs. Also, a small amount (very small depending on the size of your dog) of garlic in their food will help to keep bugs away. We recently put my dog on Interceptor (a more conventional medicine) which protects against heartworm. Depending on where you are living, heartworm may be more or less common. We decided we didn't want to take the chance, so Interceptor was the medicine that the holistic vet recommend.

I'd recommend finding a holistic/homeopathic vet in your area to speak with about your concerns.

I'm afraid there exist no 'natural' remedies that are proven to kill or prevent worms. Worms are dangerous to a dog, it is not therefore safe to use unapproved remedies.

Don't be so afraid of veterinary medicines. They are in fact a lot safer than other remedies as they have been properly tested and can be trusted to be safe as well as effective.

worms can kill a dog, particularly a pup, and need to be taken seriously.

you might think all natural etc etc is better for the dog, however, there is none on the market that is actually effective. I have found that people who look for these types of remedies are usually just looking to save money.. and it just doesnt work that way.

you really need to get the dog wormed properly with proper worming medication before he becomes malnutritioned or starts pooping blood. because then you are going to have a lot of problems on your hands. Go to your local vet and ask about it.

in addition, i hope you are worming for heartworm, which he WILL catch and which WILL kill him if you are not.
