She is an Pit Bull and have had her a month. First all the stuff I do to train her properly:
I walk her, she doesn't walk me (at least one hour a day)

Whenever we ride in the car she must remain in the back, and I make sure she does.

Absolutely no head out of the window

Trying to break her of jumping up to met people, (this is difficult with people that say they don't mind, but I already trained her not to jump on me)

I have already got her kennel/crate trained

now for the spoiling

I wrestle with my dog, (absolutly no biting allowed)

I buy her a new toy every two weeks

I let her sleep in my bed with me, whenever i am home.

Everytime she is in the car with me and I visit a Sonic's drivethru I get her a corndog, (without the stick)

I allow her to be a lapdog (only when I say it is okay)

I carry on conversations with her all the time.

I kiss her head and encourage her to play with my nieces.

I always stomp her butt in tug of war.
Too firm or loos

Hey man youre the only sort of person who should have a dog. My dog tries to form words and talk to me , although unintelligable. An intelligent dog is worth more than most people I have met, though I do have a normal amount of human friends, long term too. Bond as much as you can with your dog, you dont have them for long 10 12 years or something, youll miss him tonnes when hes gone , live it up with him.

I would not wrestle with her or tug or war. That tends to promote aggressive behavior, and that is the last thing you want in a pit bull.

I applaud that you do not let your pup hang her head out the window of the car. As much fun as people think that is for them, there is just too much danger of things blowing into their eyes (and ears) and causing damage. I actually had a minute piece of debris fly in thru an open window and strike me in the eye, cutting it just above the lower lid. I can't tell you how luck I was not to sustain serious injury. And I don't drive around with my head hanging out the window, needless to say.

I would like to suggest either a crate or a seatbelt for the ultimate safety when traveling with her, but you are certainly doing the right thing by keeping her in the backseat. I don't think a lot of owners realize the danger of having the pups in the front seat.

About the training not to jump on people.....try having them turn their backs to her when she does that, while telling her NO JUMP. See if that speeds the process up. Good for you, training her. And just because "they don't mind".....you should. It is especially important with her breed.

Good work! Keep it up.

I think you're on the right track. A mix of firm discipline and plenty of love is exactly what a dog needs. Only thing I have a bit of issure with is the corn dog. They put such a lot of preservatives and MSG in that stuff! Better just get her a dog treat.

Everything sounds fine except the sleeping on your bed bit that is a NO NO !!! It is not healthy for you or your dog, and hey what if you get a partner then it will be a huge problem as your dog will get jealous... Jealous Pit Bulls are not good to have around as they can snap....

I think you are doing a wonderful job. If only every dog owner was like you!! However, about the tug-of-war: I won't tell u to stop playing with her like that, but make sure you win most if not all of the time, to make sure she remembers who's the pack leader. I know it sounds mean, but its nicer than having to discipline her if she challenges your dominance.
Your dog is very lucky to have such a fantastic doggy dad!!!

Wow, are you like a pro dog trainer...or just an avid dog owner? Either way good for you
ps, my dog plays tug-a-war with everyone in our family and she seems to know what's going on, she doesn't pull too hard for me, she doesn't pull at all for the old man who just had surgery on his shoulder, and she pulls like the devil for my man who can take it...we even have her trained to carry the rope around the house when the cat is latched on to the other end-it's a riot!

YOUR DOG IS LUCKY TO HAVE YOU

If a dog is too spoilt they can get jealous and you have to be careful when you have young children visiting Pit Bulls are what the name says a fighting dog and not to be trusted in some situations.~~

Nope I think thats perfect how every dog should be treated, Happy and Loved yet disaplined but I think you should let her hang her head out the window of the car as a treat or something they really really enjoy that. If only all dogs could be that lucky

sounds great..

except for two things.

firstly - dont feed her human food. the high fat content can kill dogs through a variety of different ways (a high fat human meal can actually kill a dog within a couple of hours). dogs also do not process things through their stomach like us - some human food can kill within minutes such as onions and chocolate.
if you want to treat her, buy her doggy treats from a supermarket or petshop - she will love you the same and be healthier for it.

lastly - sleeping in your bed. i admit, my dog does this too. however, you should be aware that while humans cant catch dog worms (they are actually a different species), humans can still catch human worms from eggs found on the dogs coat. she will be transfering these to your bed every time she is in it.
also, humans can catch some dog fungal infections.
also, dogs can catch some human virus's. so if youre sick, dont let her sleep in your bed.

basically, make sure she is really healthy and always very clean before you let her sleep in your bed.
.
