All dogs need to get neutered. If you don't think so, go down to your local pound and see how many puppies there are that will have to be put down.
Our dogs have always had the same personalities as before they were neutered. It's just that now we don't have to worry about unwanted puppies, marking in the house, running away to find a female in heat, testicular cancer, and a host of other things. It's the most responsible thing as a dog owner and the best thing for the dog to have it spayed or neutered.

First of all its just not simply cutting his balls off.
Second it wont change his personality.
Third its alot better for them health wise. When they are nuetered it helps prevent against testicular cancer. They are less prone to get it.
Forth if he is nuetered around 6 months of age he probally wont go through the hump thing and mark your territory thing. Which i think is a good thing not doing them.
Final point the surgery isnt bad on them. I had my pekingese nuetered at 6 months old. He was fine. He layed around for a couple hours and but thats it. You couldnt really tell he was done except if you look close the sacks are not puffy standing out But he still has his sacks and looks like a normal male dog.
If you not gonna breed the dog fix him. He'll love ya for it in the end.

If you are really as ignorant as you sound, you really shouldn't own a dog. "Cutting his balls off"?!?! You're also rude -- it's called "neutered" -- which is the correct spelling. 70% of dogs hit and killed by cars are UNneutered males (out looking for a female to mate with....not paying a bit of attention to cars, etc.). Other reasons to have him neutered -- to help control the over-population of dogs, prevent testicular cancer, and spare you the embarrassment of mounting people's legs, other dogs, etc. If sniffing other dogs' "private areas" is a problem for you, you definitely shouldn't have a dog -- that's how they identify each other, by scent. Get him neutered, it's the responsible thing to do as a dog owner -- he will still be spunkie -- that he won't lose.

He will be quiet for a few days after, recovering. But he will definitely be back to normal in a few days! Don't worry!
You don't want a dog that sprays everywhere, is potentially aggressive to other dogs, might run away because there's a female in heat nearby that he wants to have sex with, do you?

All dogs should be neutered except in certain instances because of the extreme pet overpopulation. Yes, your dog WILL change, he will be safer from testicular cancer, he will not try to jump fences to get to females in heat and he will be much more calm and loving. All dogs sniff othe dogs butts, it's the universal greeting that says, "Hey, how 'ya doin'"

Your pup shouldn't change a whole lot if you have your dogs "balls cut off" he probably won't hump as much as he used to, but that is a good thing since humping is usually a sign or dominance, and can cause some friction between him and other dogs (pun intended)

It dogs nature to like other dogs privates...That is how they can tell if each other are male or female. Wonder why dogs always go for humans crotches? Same reason. That is there way of saying "Hello!" and finding out if you are male or female.
Just because you cut your dogs "balls off" doesn't mean he will stop being spunky. It just means he can't reproduce.

From what you've said, I would definitely advise getting him neutered. It will protect his future health by stopping him getting prostate and testicular cancer in the future (common in older uncastrated male dogs) and reduce his risk of getting urinary problems.
As far as changing him goes - castration only puts an end to sexual behaviour, which is what you seem to want. It gets rid of sex hormones, so this is the only behaviour it changes. Castration is always a good idea in dogs.

Getting your dog neutered is the best thing to do. Neutered pets live longer. His personality will not change. Neutering your pets give them a better and healthier life. So make an appointment with your vet the sooner the better. Best wishes.

It's very good for the owners & the animals to be spayed or neutered...leave breeding up to EXPERTS, especially little or bull type dogs, it might mellow them out some..but if they are spunky type dogs, they will stay spunky..there's everything GOOD about spaying & neutering animals, safer & healthier for them...leave breeding to the pro's.. the reason your dog goes for other dogs privates is to show dominance, just a dog thing & perfectly, natural..TC & Peace
