I have a 12 year old female yellow lab. She is also going blind and is having a hard time getting up and down the stairs. I live by myself and am only able to let her out on my lunch break (which I don't have all the time to take) and she needs to be let out at least every two hours. Any suggestions

I have a 4 year old husky she only weights about 40 lbs. I have taken her to the vet had her dewormed. The vet says she is fine. She is active and has normal poop and a healthy coat, but she doesn't eat very much and has not gained anything since I got her 3 years ago. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem. Sometimes I feel bad when I take her for a walk some people say she is just beautiful but others look at me like I am a horrible person because you can see her ribs and her hip bones.

I have two newfoundland dogs. One is 20 months old and not neutered. My other dog is going on 7 years old and is neutered. My younger dog has been viciously attacking the other dog for no apparent reason except for maybe jealousy. My vet said if we neuter her it should solve this problem. I'm afraid it may be more than that. HELP

My dog went to the toilet in someones yard and then went down further to finish it off. He is an old sick boy and the guy was screaming at him to shoo him away. He wouldn't let me explian he's sick and I couldn't disturb him, cause he hardly goes as it is.

Then when I went to pick it up he was still yelling at me. I apologised to the guy, but he went raving on about my dog always crapping in his yard.

It was the first time I or the dog have been anywhere near his place.

All breeds were created by people via selective breeding of different dogs. What is the difference?

First off, I personally wouldn't use Beneful or a generic form of it, but I'm asking out of concern for a friend's dog that I just LOVE.
Is there a generic or a similar brand of dog food out there that resembles Purina Beneful? This dog has been very sick for over a week with clueless owners who are going to ride it out. The last I knew the owners were buying Purina Beneful but two weeks ago when I saw the dog's food it looked different than Beneful in color, but was "close enough" looking. Basically it looked like a possible generic Beneful. I'm wondering if there is a generic, and it is what the owners bought, and if that brand is on the recall list of pet food. The poor dog has been sick with the recall food symptoms for over a week.

I have three dogs (one is my moms dog) but one is so old he won't be around too much longer (Im so sad!) Anyway, my other dog Lexi loves him to pieces! When he passes I think she needs another companion because she is fairly young and the other dog in the home does not like her. So I need help! Should I get my dog from the kill shelter to save a life OR get one from the no kill sanctuary to open up room for other dogs...I really need help with this decision. I want to decide so that when the time comes I won't be even more stressed from the passing of my old guy. I am leaning towars the kill shelter dogs but I need some suggestions....thanks so much. Both of my dogs were either to be euthanized or were found wild on the streets!

I love my little dog more than anything but some of my friends give me a hard time,"It's only a dog!"

She was a pre-mature/runt that had no chance of living so I saved her from death and she is doing fine now.

Specifically their ears. My boyfriend and I have researched all about Great Dane behavior, needs, eating and comfort requirements, life spans, the works. We've decided that a Dane is perfect for us so now we have set about the task of choosing our new little (soon to be big) friend but we have one question left to ask before we do. Why do some Great Danes have ears that stand up while others have ears that flop over? Every puppy we have looked at has had floppity ears...which is DARLING for a puppy but when looking at grown-up Danes we prefer the alert, standing ears. So how do we know, when picking out our puppy, if her ears will stand up or be floppity when she grows up? Can looking at her parents tell us for sure? Is it like Mini-Pins and other breeds where you have to massage the ear as a pup to get it to stand up? Please no "guessing" answers. If you're not experienced with Danes please don't bother to answer the question. Experts are highly preferred: vets, breeders etc.

My friend has a dog that is normally very active and friendly. But the last couple days she has had problems pooping, throwing up and doesn't seem to care about the door bell ringing. She has pooped once but sometimes she tries and doesn't accomplish anything. She is going to the vet tomorrow but wanted to know if anyone has any ideas of what the problem could be.

Okay, my dad went to walmart to get me poster board, and i guess he noticed that we needed dog food. He came back an hour later with a huge kibbles and bits bag. I told him about 15 times, today ALONE to NOT buy dog food at walmart. And you know why they picked up that particular food? Because of the fancy words and the pretty packaging. I was so angry, that I actually grabbed my dad over to the dog food and read out loud the ingredients. And told him about the BHA causing cancer. You know what I got? a HEY! PUT THAT BACK IN THE CLOSET!! And of course my stepmother had to put in a comment. She said, oh did we get the wrong cracked corn for the chickens, too!? It is not my fault I protect my dogs! I told him, bring me to the feed store, to get royal canin! I don't want to sound like a brat but hey I don't want my dog dying because of my ignorant father! How can I convince him to take the food back? I know that we can afford better food because he makes 2,000 a week. ingreds. in AD
