I have a 12 year old female yellow lab. She is also going blind and is having a hard time getting up and down the stairs. I live by myself and am only able to let her out on my lunch break (which I don't have all the time to take) and she needs to be let out at least every two hours. Any suggestions

Is she actually incontinent or is she not getting out enough thru the day and leaking? Has she been checked for a bladder infection?

It depends on the problem and why it's happening what a vet would prescribe.. You should get her properly diagnosed. But before using harsh drugs like Phenylproanolamine or Diethylstilbesterol you should try to treat it naturally. Also get someone there to be letting her out every few hours.. Poor old lady.. Probably feels awful making a mistake like that and doesn't know why it's happening!

She should be getting all the fresh water she wants, and she should also be getting cranberry capsules daily.

Does she urinate around the house? If she's able to hold it until she gets outside, even if it is very frequently, this is not true incontinence, which is a complete lack of sphincter control, i.e. the dog will urinate wherever without really noticing she's doing it.

Incontinence is a common condition in older dogs. Your vet will be able to provide you with meds to manage it. Propranolol is a common one, but your vet can advise you which is the most appropriate for you situation.
