I hope you are not serious. Some males do not raise their legs to pee and his bark is going to be that of a small dog it is not gender related. Turn the dog on its back and look and see if there is a penis or check towards its rear end and feel for testicles if you want to be real sure. I know the dog has long hair but come on......

Penis + testicles if not neutered = male.
Vagina + vulva = female.
Neutered male dogs will squat as well, it's not just the girls who squat to do their duty. I have no idea how you can determine his sex by the way he barks but... whatever. This is such an easy question. Are you sure you are able to care for a dog if you can't figure of the sex of the dog?

Barks like a female? How do you distinguish a female bark from a male's? I've never been able to. Many males squat to pee, especially puppies.
Roll the puppy over on it's back. If there's a penis and testicles, then it's a male. If you're still not sure, then ask someone else...a veterinarian for instance.

Well does he have testicles? Or a p*nis?? if yes, then the dog is a male. Young males tend to squat like females.. If he has neither of these things, then your dog is a female. Make an appointment with the vet to have the dog altered, vet will tell you what it was if you can't figure it out.

So this question is a joke, right? You've had the dog for 7 months, and don't know what sex it is? I guess you must be a really dumb person, as everybody knows what sex their dog is, or maybe you are a very intelligent 5 year old posing on Answers. Geez, thanks for the 2 points,

Well I've seen dogs with both male and female parts...but If he just has a penis then don't worry about it b/c my male APBT didn't hike his leg until he was almost 8months old, although his bard started getting deep around 6 months old.

In either case, it's time to get your dog spayed or neutered. If you are unsure take him or her to the vet and your vet will let you know the sex of your dog. Most of the other answers here tell you how to check the sex and that's great, but I do really suggest that you get your dog to the vet and get him or her fixed.

If your dog is male, he will have an object projected out from under his belly close to his hind legs. It may be hard to find if your dog has longer hair.
If your dog is female, she will not have anything projecting from under her belly.
if its a girl u will see the area between her legs
Hope this helps ya.

well, if he has a little wee wee on his belly then he is definitely a boy.............lol
Some boy pups don't learn to lift their leg until they are 6 or more months old and sometimes if they get neutered before this age they never learn to lift their leg because the need to mark just isn't there.

He will either have a penis on his tummy area ( &testicles at the rear), or a Vulva further back between her back legs.
