My 1 year old pit/lab named Marley does a bunch of different things that I love... After she gets a bath, she runs around the house like a nutcase before i can even completely dry her... Whenever I grab a plastic bag she RUNS to the door because she knows she's going on a walk... When she wants to play and you're not paying attention to her she'll bring a toy, put it on your lap, and either lay down and sit as if to say "hey I'm being a good girl, play with me!"... and a whole bunch of other cute stuff... Share your stories!

OK, My son took my Pug puppy Lily out for a walk, and he usually runs near the end of the walk with her, so she comes in and her toe nail is broken and bleeding, since she is a Pug she is too hyper to actually let me get a good look at it, I know that they can clean and care for their wounds well, I put her in her bed and let her be til this morning when we gave her a bath and got to see that it is indeed a broken toe nail, and that it is still connected, what do I do? She does not indicate that it is painful, should I wrap it? I do not want her to continue to snag it on the carpet since she bounces off the walls. Anyone have any good suggestions? I will even take half assed suggestions at this point, I just don't want it to continue to bleed.

I took my dog to the beach yesterday and everything was fine when we came home. There were a few bully dogs there yesterday but my dog didn't seem to be hurt at all. My mom gave her a bath last night and also put some Advantix on her afterwards. I noticed this morning, while taking her for a walk, that she is acting weird and her tail is slumped down. It seems as though her tail doesn't have enough strength to stand up on its own. My mom also told me that last night she was acting weird after having a bath. I don't know what might be wrong with her but I don't want her tail to be hurt at all. What are some things to look for?

My Chi was diagnosed with colitis. She was eating Royal Canin Chihuahua Special Breed food from Petco since 6 months old. Since this colitis problem, my vet changed her to Eukanuba Low residual diet and she just throws it up. As my last effort, I decided to cook for her is the best thing. I don't want to deal with pet food since the recall. The diet I give her consists of ground beef, rice and baby food vegetables. Her stool is still sometimes watery and I dont know what to do. What should I feed my dog for her problem? Also, what about a vitamin supplement?

Or would your dog actually greet the burgler?
Would (s)he just growl and back up?
Or run under the sofa and whimper?

Oh, and list his/her breed(s).

My gorgeous loving healthy five year old dog was just diagonsed with kidney failure due to food poisoning. This is no ordinary dog. She is the best friend I ever had; The best dog I have ever known. I took her to the vet because she was losing weight. Unlike humans, dogs still produce urine when in renal failure. We do not know if she will live. Or how she will be if she does live. The food was DRY FOOD. Nutromax from Pet Smart. This food is their own brand. Last year, a woman promoting Nutromax as premium, talked me into buying it. I did because the dog was bored with the mail order premium dog food she was eating. Now Pet Smart is not even answering the phone or talking to anyone. They say fax your vet bill. The media has not sufficiently warned. I had no idea. Several weeks ago at the first mention that dry food might be involved I changed back to Flint River Ranch . The damage is already done.
What is being done about this?
Get your dogs to the vet and have them tested!

There are more than 1000 attacks every year in the US where Pit Bulls kill or severely injure humans. Why is this tollerated? Why do people get these killer dogs and put their kids at risk?

Apparently PETA is against people breeding domestic animals.. And have posted this statement...

Wayne Pacelle, President, Humane Society of America: "One generation and out. We have no problems with the extinction of domestic animals."

Ingrid Newkirk, President, PETA: "For one thing, we would no longer allow breeding. . If people had companion animals in their homes, those animals would have to be refugees from the animal shelters and the streets. .. eventually, companion animals would be phased out, and we would return to a more symbiotic relationship-- enjoyment at a distance."

PETA and HSUS are leading the "Mandatory Spay/Neuter" and breed-ban legislation movements.

The FDA thinks that perhaps this petfood recall, the petfood poisoning, was done intentionally..

I have heard that it's suspected that PETA has done this intentionally, in order to help them w/ their crusade to stop the breeding of domestic animals.. Anyone else hear this or any idea if it might be true?

My black labrador was diagnosed about a year and a half ago with a disease called Lupoid Onchodystrophy (Lou-poid On - eh - ko - dis - trophy). This is a disease that causes the outer portion of her claws (the part that you trim) to separate from the quick (the part that has the blood supply). It is extremely painful! (Imagine having someone peel your fingernails off slowly and you'll get an idea of how it must feel.) The disease progresses until it affects every toenail. So far, every claw on the front (including dew-claws) has been affected, about 3 claws on the back as well. The course of treatment is usually Omega 3 fatty acids followed by a life-long course of antibiotics. Maggie is taking her Omega 3, but can't tolerate the antibiotics (she throws up constantly). Now the vet has said that the only thing we can do to help her is to amputate the first digit on every toe in front! We cannot de-claw the back feet because it causes severe unrelenting pain in dogs. Please help shes 11-

I heard they jump out or hide. I want to know do they drown? I bathe my little tea cup pups and I dip them in water with conditioner in it up to their little necks. Their heads have pet shampoo on it and their ears so the fleas can't hide. When I take them out of the water the fleas are floating, but are they dead. They sure look dead and I wash them down right away. Not taking any chances they are holding their breath. I just hate fleas. They multiply worse than rabbits. Serious answer would be nice for a silly qestion. Thanks.

Have you had a dog with lyme disease that didn't respond to antibiotics? Please tell me about your experience with your dog and their treatment of Lyme. What were the symptoms? What meds did the vet give? Did first meds work? What ever information you can share is most appreciated.

Or, "I paid $1,000 for a teacup chiwawa (sic) and now it is too big for the teacup, can I sue the pet store?"

"I bought a 3-week-old yorkimalt from a good breeder and they said it had its shots but now it has died, what shall I do?"

I've only been looking at dog questions for a short time but how many of these get posted? Just how stupid are some people, why do they set out to buy a puppy like they would buy designer shoes, and how many disreputable puppy mills are out there ready to take full advantage of them?

How do you people feel about starting a campaign to shut them down and allow only officially licensed breeders, who are subject to stringent operating conditions, to sell puppies? Any others would have to be given away free to homes that have been inspected by the local authorities.

Okay, most of you are in the US and your laws vary from state to state but surely animal welfare laws should be federal?

Sorry but this makes me mad. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

We bring her out constantly and all she does is sit and sniff the air. But peeing in the house seems ok to her. It is so weird. I can see a few accidents once in while since she is 4 months old and we have had her since the end of February but since Monday it is been a problem.

Can it be one of these things:

My son, hubby, and I, we were on vacation last week, and we were home all last week. Maybe she liked us home and is rebellion.

Could it be that we clean the yard up and there is no snow. ( she really liked peeing in the snow)

Also she is sitting outside, could she be peeing while she is sitting on the ground.

Thanks for any info.

We clean up her pee in the house everytime and use a deoderizer to get rid of the smell.
