No. Not at all. It is never too late for a dog to go for obedience classes. If anything, you could use it as an advantage. He is older and able to last longer. Most puppies can only be last a few minutes of training at a time. You also know your dog better and can anticipate when he will make mistakes do use his favourite treats to motivate him. I'm glad you are a concerned enough owner to make the right decision. All around the world, people would rather just dump their dog. Good luck with the classes and well done.

My puppy just completed a 7 week training class and due to the amount of dogs registered, we were put in the older dog class (6 months and older). There were more 2 and 3 year old dogs than there were puppies. The older dogs learned things much quicker, had a higher attention span, and were most improved overall. It was also great to see the dog owner feel a sense of relief that their dog was now more manageable - some of these dogs were out of control when the class first started! :) So, definitely, not too late!!! The dog will be happier and so won't you.

The old saying goes you can't teach a dog new tricks but this is wrong. You can train your dog at any age you just need to be patient and persistant. Take your dog to the class and train him.

It's not easy, but yes you can still take the dog. A dog is never too old to be trained

If your dog is still alive, then it is not too late.

At 2 years old he's barely past the puppy stage.

Good luck.
