Any of the premium brands of kibble that you will find at your local pet supply shop.
My favorite is Canidae,, as it is made from all human grade ingredients, and all ingredients are grown and processed in USA.
None of the kibbles at your grocer;s are worthy of feeding your dog..they all have fillers (poop!) and you end up paying for poop by the pound!
with the premium kibbles, there are no fillers, but only digestible nutritious ingredients.
The premium brands actually cost considerably less per month to feed..as the dogs eat less and waste (poop) less.
Other good brands are Wellness and Innova Evo (no grains)
when my large breed was eating Nutro Max, they each ate about a bag per month..Now I am feeding Canidae, and they each eat 1/2 bag per month (40 pound bags) So, I was paying for 20 pounds of poop per dog each month!

To get the least amount of poop and maximum nutrition, a RAW diet is best. This is feeding raw meat and bones to your dog. Raw bones are safe and do not splinter like cooked bones. With a dog on raw food, poops are very small and come out almost white-ish and charcoal-like. There is less poop because the dog is absorbing more nutrients from the food, and the white color comes from the bone matter. If you choose not to feed raw, go with a high quality kibble like Eagle Pack. Your dog will not eat as much of it and poop will be smaller because there are not as many fillers or grains in a quality food.

Choose a food with meat and/or meat meal (chicken, lamb or fish) as the top ingredients. Rice or oats are good sources of carbohydrates, but should be down two or three items on the list of ingredients. I would avoid anything that contains meat byproducts (those are the unidentifiable pieces left over from meat processing). I would also avoid food containing wheat, corn or soy. Those are all fillers and are not easily digested and are thereby passed through the system (as poop).

Avoid the fillers (corn, wheat, etc) used in inexpensive not-good-for-dogs foods at grocery stores and stores like WalMart. Be an educated consumer and know how to read the *very* tricky dog food lables. So here's a quick course in "Label Information 101"

Here's site that has already rated some brand name foods

Here you can compare brands against one another

Be sure to double check that what you pick is not on RECALL

The food with the less filler (grains and meal) will reduce the amount of poop. The more ingredients that are absorbed by the body the less poop there is. I use Innova pet food because it doesn't have fillers or chemicals.

Dog food comes in "Grocery" and "Premimum".
Grocery food uses whole grain corn and by-product meal as a filler instead of natual foods. This causes alot of gas in most dogs, as well as stinky eliminations in the yard.
I would choose Premimum foods. It cuts the smell down to nothing and its alot healthier. Read the ingredients. Choose a food that the first ingrediant is some sort of protein (chicken, fish, etc). Beef does not digest very well which is why most premium foods keeps it out. Stay away from by-product meal foods, alot of dogs develop allergies from it.
Just to throw out a few names...Nutro, Nature's Recipe, Blue Buffalo, etc are a few premium foods that can be found at Petsmart, Petco, etc.
Hope that helps! :)

Purina O.N.E! It is the best! I get it for my dog all the time, and she loves it, but mainly the chicken & rice.
