The flea dips rinse off in rain and everytime you bath the dog, so you need to reapply it every month. It is also a mess and doesn't smell very good either.
I have found Frontline Plus the best. It is expensive but it does the job. What I wasn't told is that it should last 3 months for one application so I have been buying it every month. REALLY expensive! I have a lot more than one dog. LOL The Frontline Plus doesn't have a detectible oder after a few hours but you do have to wait 2 days after the last bath or no later than 2 days before the next bath to apply it.

I suggest using front line the cheaper ones dont really work, they get the licence but doesn't make them any good. I would also flea down your home. Did you know there is a cat flea=brown dog flea=black
if you check your dog they will have more brown than black!
please dont use a dip.
& dont use flea spray, there is actually quite a few dogs out there allergic to it apparently .
Spot on treatments are much better.
Wash you dog but never wash your dog then use spot on or any other flea treatments you will O.D your dog on flea treatment

May I suggest using a spray or a spot-on from the vets, since pet shop and supermarket-available treatments are notoriously ineffective, and some are dangerous. Spot-ons are typically to be used every 4-8 weeks depending on the product (Frontline, Revolution or Advantage/Advantix are the best).
Your vet will answer any questions about dosage when you buy the stuff but the instructions are clear on the packet. Frontline protects against fleas for 6-8 weeks and ticks for 2 weeks.

Fleas are a major pest. There are various species of fleas - cat fleas, dog fleas, rat fleas and rabbit fleas.
You can get rid of them by the safest and cheapest methods like boric acid.
