my 3-yr old Frenchie shows signs of aggression (rather fear aggression) when people are coming near him and never lets someone to pat him. He feels threatened i think and under these circumstances you can't trust him because he can bite at any time. We already tried obedience training (kind of late though) and he got better but still there is more work to be done.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I do not know much about his past but h wants to go out every night and he doesn't seem to want to go walking or potty. He just whines and whines. Noramlly he will not go out unless I am with him but at night he will go out and not even notice I am not There! This is not his usual behavour. Can anyone tell me what might be going on?

All he wants to do is sit on the balcony or in the yard and sniff the wind! I would'nt mind it but it is almost always at 10 or 11 p.m. and I have to get up for work at 5 am!!

Th rules of the foster program say I must not leave him outside alone ever. This wanting to ge outside is a new behavour and I need to get him to be an inside dog not an outside dog.

Yikes! And yes he is walked every day at least 3 times and I do let him in the yard to play for at least a 1/2 hour in the am and again in the pm.

My dog had an allergy problem. He was on a special diet that was formulated for his allergies. The name of the maker of the food is Innovative Veterinary Diets better known in the industry as IVD.

Elmo, my pet Jack Russell Terrier, developed kidney failure. He had to be euthanized within two weeks of the onset of the problem. The only food Elmo was ever fed was IVD.

I find it to be very suspicious that he died from kidney failure just as a massive pet food recall was announced. Prior to the onset of kidney failure, he never had any problems with his kidneys. If any of you followers of Answers has had a pet die from kidney failure while eating IVD, please contact the corporate offices of IVD to let them know.

I wrote to them via email four days ago. They haven't answered my inquiry yet. Please help me to get IVD added to the recall list. I don't want any more pets to die from their negligence. Please help.

We have an extremely annoying neighbor behind us. Their dogs bark a lot from the morning until the afternoon. When the dogs stopped, you enjoy the silence only for a short time. They bark for several minutes then they stop, after a break they bark again. It continues for hours.

I read online, that I could buy an anti barking unit for my back yard. But I read that it does not work. They have a wall around their yard. An anti barking collar might work.

I wrote them notes several times. They don't care and let them bark. I have to call animal control. On their web site their wrote: “Unlawful barking is defined as a period of five (5) minutes of barking during a 15-minute interval at any time of day."

An example: The dog starts to bark at 8 AM and barks for 3 minutes, stops and at 8:10 he barks for 2 minutes. Would that count 5 minutes?

Since they are too lazy to go to the basement where their food and water is, they often drink from the dog's bowl. Can they tranfer bad germs to the dog's bowl this way?

My Shar Pei is in Renal Failure. It also turns out that his blood pressure is really high. After determining that some other hypertension drug was not doing the trick, my Vet prescribed Amlodipine -she said to get the generic if its available yet- its not, its only sold as Norvasc here in the US. The cost of the Norvasc is really high- expecially considering all of the other special things Im having to buy (such as IV fluids). So, I ordered generic Amlodipine from a Canadian Pharmacy. So I was rather surprised when the envelope showed up from India containing a drug called Amlopres, made by a company called Cipla. My question is- is this a safe alternative to give to my dog? Do I have anything else to be concerned about? Its certainly much more affordable, but Im rather concerned about it at this point in time.

I want a small dog (I live in a apartment). I just wanna know what people's experiences are. My boyfriend has a 7 yr old daughter who visits like once a month. Also, I work 8 hour days. My boyfriend wants me to get a cat but I'm more of a dog person. Also, the dog breed should be easy to train and doesn't shed much. I'm thinking a boston terrier. Also, gets along with other dogs. My parents have a spoiled lab named Buddy and I love him to death. (my mom already said I can't have him, lol.)

I am planning on adopting a mastiff from a shelter but wanted to get advice from other mastiff owners on the breed. I have always wanted one and have been researching the breed for close to 4 months to make sure this is the dog for me. I have grown up with small to medium size dogs but have always wanted to have a large breed dog. Thanks for any additional info and advice on owning a mastiff (neopolian, bull, american, english, etc.)

Has anyone else noticed that Wal-mart still has tainted dog and cat food on their shelves? I heard people talking that some of the pet food was still there. It got the best of me. I drove to Wal-mart this morning. Sure enough it is still there. Their shelves are stocked full. No open spaces.

The question was deleted, I assume because of the person in question. I responded to his post with this..
you are basing your ideas on media coverage. Did you know pittbull breeds are NOT the #1 breed responsible for attacks and they scored higer than Goldens on ATTS tests this year.. http://www.atts.org/stats1.html You also might want to actually research statistics before making statments based on faulty premises. It helps to be knowledgable about what you are arguing about before sounding like you are merely ignorant. All life is precious the life of a dog is just as valuable as that of a human, the reason your friends dog is badly behaved is their fault and has nothing to do with breeding.. poor socialization, bad or no training are the dogs problem. If I could I would take that dog and show you how to train it.Cesar Millan took a pitty today who was dog aggressive and had him running around with 20 other dogs all fine, but he has knowledge, so many people do not and dogs suffer
