took my cocker to the vet last night and was told he has dry eyes. his left eye was red and swollen real bad. thought he had pink eye. he had his cornea checked(0k) and was given drops and eye ointment. how long do you think before his eyes look back to normal. ?

i live with my 5 year old daughter (we has a pom that we lost due to a divorce my ex took her and i can't get her back/tryed) and i have the lazyest cat that you have ever met....he does fine with big and little dogs....my bf is a truck driver so i want some company while im home alone.....i am a stay at home mom....i want a female too.....

She never did this before, its a recent habit that has started in the last few weeks, shes still a puppy as she is about 10 months (I think, shes a rescue dog), I tell her firmly to stop but shes still so excitable, what can I do.

So, I took my dog to the vet, my yorkshire terrier who is 16 years old now, and they said he has the beginning of kidney failure. I know he's an old guy now but I feel like Im making him die sooner because I fed him that stupid Iams dog food....

Basically, what are the odds that I killed my best friend of 16 years..:(

I was thinking of buying a male pug puppy. I saw one available, but he only has one testacle. Will this affect his health, is it a current health issue? If I bought him of course I'd get him fixed, so does him only having one testacle effect the whole neuter process?

We have a 7 yr old dog that is just plan mean. We have done ALOT to try and correct his behaviour, but even the trainer that we saw said "He's naturally vicious". He just isn't a nice dog. (please I don't need your comments about why I should or shouldn't do this- I've been putting this off for 6+ yrs bc I really don't want to- in the hopes he'll change. He hasn't though)
My question is- we have 3 kids: 2, 5 and 11. The little ones I don't think will understand. My 11 yr old will though. We've talked about just saying that "he's going somewhere else to live" b/c he does know the dog is mean. But in times where the dog has gotten really ticked off and I inturn have to defend myself so I don't get bit, my son actually hit ME b/c he thought I was hurting him. This was the final straw that made us decide something has to happen.
So- do I tell my 11 yr old that the dog has done too much and needs to go? (we have explained the reasons to him) or do say he's living elsewhere?

I have a 2 1/2 year old shepard mix that loves to eat feces.
I've tried to stop her from doing it but nothing ever seems to work.She pulls out soiled diapers from the trash, eats from the litter box,and when taken for walks attempts to eat other dogs feces.I don't understand what her problem is and I don't think this is normal.What can I do to fix this problem.Thanks.

I have a 11 month old jack russell puppy who i am really struggling to train, he seems to be nearly there with toilet training and lead walking but then he just lapses and does nothing again. Help - i am gtting to the end of my tether with it, but want to try everything before any drastic action as i love him to bits. He is okay at night as he has a crate which he sleeps in. I have been told they are a difficult breed to train until they are older!?

Are there suitable amenities for you to recreate with your pet? Personally, I pay a good deal of income tax, sales tax, property tax etc - and use local parks pretty much exclusively for recreating with my dog but feel I get little value for my hard-earned tax dollar.

Too much is spent instead on playgrounds and playing fields for a very small percentage of the population (children) - when in fact said facilities are for the most part unused except for summertime and weekends.

how about your community - as a dog owner - are your needs being served?

My puppy just happened to pee in our kitchen which is white tile and I noticed his pee was sort of orange like watered down blood sort of...... have to wait until after work to take him to the vet. After noticing the color of his pee i also noticed he was going washroom lots??? Has anyone had the same problem before, really worrying but I can't take the time off work right now to run to the vet :( Thanks!!! Always had dogs but never had this problem with a pup before????

i took to puppies from a friend coz they wasnt looked after properly but the problem is they have biten themselfs bad and i was wondering is i put salt water on them would it harm them or make it worse and will my other 2 puppies get there infections
