Of course you need to get the dog into the vet right away, but in the mean time go to the store and in the asile where the baby stuff is, there is a nasal cleaner, a little thing that gets the stuff out of the child's nose when they are sick and buy Distilled water only, not dannon not anything else, pure distilled water and rinse the dog's eye out with it. Other waters may contail minerals that could still harm the dog's eye. In case of infection, you must get the vet's stuff that is an antibiotic that you put into the eye to clear up any infection. Good Luck.

Could be an eye infection starting or allergies. Make an appointment to see the vet. In the mean time you can put a cool cloth over the eye and just gently get the goober out.

Dogs are prone to eye infections and allergies. My Shih Tzu's eyes get 'goobered', but I was able to get it to ease up by watching what type of cleaner I used on the carpeting. Dogs are close to the floor and can have an allergic reactions to room sprays, deodorizers, and carpet cleaners. If you use 'em, stop for a while and see if the problem subsides.
Alas, the goobers are usually a telltale sign of infection. If it persists for 48 hours, you should have him looked at by a vet.

U cld give him first aid at home if it does not help take him to the vet.
Take some warm water and with a swab of cotton gently clean the dog's affected eye but ensure that ur own hands r clean otherwise they will add to the infection.
Repeat this 3/4 times a day if no improvement take him to the vet

What colour are the goobers?? If they are a grayish colour, then it's just the eye clearing out hair, dust etc.
If it's yellow or green, then you'll need to see your vet. He needs to know the proper type of bacteria to treat before he can prescribe an antibiotic for the infection.

Dont panic I train to be a Vet Nurse, just get a little warm water with about half a teaspoon of salt hold him still and gently smoot down the lid and upfrom the bottom, if it's a little infection then you will clean it out by doing this! If it does get worse then take him otherwise they charge you for something you can do yourself!!!
Godd luck be carefull!

Absolutely take him in-don't mess around with the eyes. It sounds like an infection. Infections will get worse before they get better. Your vet will probably give him an antibiotic and some antibiotic eye ointment...but don't wait, because it could get much worse!

It could be nothing, or it could be a sign of something serious. I would definitely take him in. Anything that seems abnormal should be checked by a vet. :-)
