I asked my vet and they were able to give me some recommendations of good pet photographers in the area. Also look under pet photography in the yellow pages. Stores probably won't ever do pets. The people who did my engagement photos let us bring our 2 German Shepard's to the photo shoot and we used that picture of us and them as a photo sign in at the wedding.

PetsMart offers professional portraits done of your pets. I had my dog photographed and they did a great job. I know that Pet Supermarket does them also so I'd check with any pet market like Petco, Petland, and Super Petz. They only do them at certain times as they have to get in a professional pet photographer to take the photos, so I'd check with the store when they plan on their next photography session. They will also take photos at Christmas with Santa, but it's not a professional portrait.
Good Luck

You will more than likely have to hire a professional photographer that isn't inside of a retail store. They would be more willing to take pictures or your pets in there offices or in an outdoor setting try the yellow pages.

Look in the yellow pages for your area. There are specialized pet photographers. Contact the local Cat Association or Kennel Club for dogs and see if you can get any leads there. Ask other photo studios if they do not do pets - they may have contacts they can send you to.
good luck!

you will have to look for a pet photographer or at minimum someone who has a freestanding photography studio as pets are not allowed into businesses like target, kmart, walmart, sears, etc.
with that said most pet stores have information on photographers.

Look in your phone book for photographers and make some calls to them. They should be able to help you. My aunt and uncle had pictures taken of their dog by a photographer but I don't remember who took the pictures. They live in Ohio.

Most places won't let you bring pets for health reasons but if you look for small independently owned shops, they will let you. The other plus is the photos usually come out better at smaller shops.
