I have a rottweiler and she has a lot of dandruff flakes(so i assume) and her skin is very dry and on some parts of her body her hair is thinning out a lot. Is this from the winter? Or can this be something else?

I really really could use some advice on dogs, mainly pugs, and seizures. My Harley, 5yrs., has been averaging about 3 a year, and all under 5 minutes...which isn't bad, but this morning he had a really bad one that lasted almost 10 minutes and took him longer to come out of and return to normal. He acted much diff. that usual so I worried more. I take him to the vet and they tell me meds is an option, one I'm not ready for yet. So I log everything in his little diary and bring that in and hope we can figure it out...see what's causing him to have these. Most of them, minus one, have all been in his sleep. So maybe nightmares? I have no clue. The doctors say it's really tough to decipher these and the only way they research them is on dead brain tissue. So i get nowehere. I was hoping someone reading this would know of something, ANYTHING, in regards to this. What might cause them, eating habits (which by the way, is not that cheap **** being recalled), behavioral habits...ANYTHING!

I have a 5 year old poodle and would like to have him fixed. When I called my vet, they mentioned a new laser procedure was available, saying it was less bleeding and a faster recovery. Has anyone out there had this done with their pets? Are there any reasons I shouldn't have the laser surgery done?

I am dog sitting my sons dog and he is a pit bull mix. Sometimes I look at him and he looks back ant me at it scares me. He looks like he just wants to pounce on me. I am very nervous. He is only 8 months old and he is very active. Sometimes he wants to bite and I don't know if he's playing. I've heard horror stories about pit bulls but he has been treated very well and I just wanted to know if there is something wrong with them in their hads that could make them attack or are some of them just trained to be mean.

My dog is 2 years old and housebroken, but if I put a blanket, towel or pillow in his kennel, he pees on it. Simple solution would be to not give him a towel, but I heard dogs were suppose to have some sort of padding so they don't have to lay on the hard ground. The vet said he doesn't have anything wrong with him and I only leave him in there 2 to 3 hours at a time, which isn't too long. I feed him in his kennel b/c I thought that might help, but it hasn't.

I have my pug's pedigree, and it looks as though her grandpa on her mother's side,is also her great grandpa. So,her grandma was bred with her own father to produce MY pug's mom. ? Is that acceptable in the show ring? I'm trying to find info on AKC.org but I haven't come up with any answers as of yet. Thanks

My opinion is, that the dangerous dogs act will only work if the police and the general public work together and the police should have a specific section of officers who, when a member of the public contacts them with proof of a dog behaving dangerously, will go out and remove the dog from that persons care, permanently.

Those people that own more than 1 dog that behaves dangerously should be banned from having dogs for life and if they disobey that, then they should recieve an extremely long prison sentence that isnt suspended.

What do you think?

Is there anything you have to pay? Any fees at all? Or do you just walk out with the dog. Also, I don't know of any dog shelters or places to adopt in my area, I live in Springfield, MO. Thanks

Our dogs take us for the walk. We have tried halti collars, and attempted the dog whisperers advice to stay calm and assertive. Nothing seems to help, therefore they are missing out on the enjoyment and so are we!
