You would have to isolate the poison. Find out what it was. There are many common household foods and items that are poison to animals (like plants, grapes, etc). I doubt it was the food because I believe the recall is for canned foods. Of course I could be wrong, but check this website to see if any of the items you gave your dog were on it. If not, get the record from the vet so it doesn't happen again. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/03/19/national/main2583072.shtml

Odd, and unsettling.
I doubt it, but you might want to read the article about the recall again. The spokesman did say they had used a new gluten supplier for a while, then changed sources when the problem cropped up. And an update article I read just a short time ago said that the bad food (canned and pouched foods) had been tainted with rat poison.

It could be possible, but somehow I doubt it. The poisoning is causing kidney failure, it appears to only be in the wet (canned or pouch) foods. They have discovered that there is a type of rat poison in the food. Don't know how to spell the name but it begins with an A. Your dog, like most dogs, can eat some stuff that we don't think of as poison, but is to them. Hope he is okay now.

During the teething stages, dogs can have temporary issues with yucky breath. Usually because they bleed a bit from the swollen areas and can cause sensitive areas to bleed every time they chew on anything, not just hard toys! Not a problem unless it doesn t go away after the new teeth are totally in and the teething stage has ended. Either way, I would have the pup vet checked just to be sure there are no underlying issues to cause concern. My pup started having dragon breath two days ago but Imcan actually see his new canines coming in. He s a five month old German Shepherd. Of course I m keeping an eye on him but not worrying unless it doesn t subside as the days go on. Good luck and enjoy your pup!

No, because the poisoned dog food is limited to "cuts and gravy" types that come in cans or pouches. It doesn't sound like that was what you were feeding your pet.

The poisoned food wasn't sold until December, so no.

Read this article and look at the food list at the bottom. It came out today, so it is current.
