Yes, but not soon enough, we had to put our Brandy (9 yr old shizhu poodle) down on Feb 16, began to soil and showed discomfort, then resulted to neurological symptoms and the end she had severe brain damage. Brandy died without an official diagnoses- she had the vets baffled. Then last week, over a month after putting her to sleep I put the pieces of the puzzle together, talking to others online i discovered other pets died the exact same way as Brandy.
The mourning process which I thought was going okay, was now beginning all over again, and this time I just cannot come to terms with knowing that this company not only killed my dog, but over 2 thousand other pets in their path.
The media, associated press, and even vets are trying to sweep this under the rug, covering up the truth about how many pets have actually died.
As for hearing about it on the news, here in NJ, we have heard nothing in the past 3 days on it, we hear about 1 pig though, every single day we hear about a pig who died, but not about our pets- 1 pigs death- Anna nicole Smith is more important than 2 thousand pet deaths.
Sorrow, anger and mixed emotions is how I have felt about this whole thing. And suing? the only ones who benefit from civil suits are the lawyers. By law pets are classified as material things, equal to furniture in your home. Let me ask you, have you ever gone into a furniture store and tell the sales person you would like to adopt a bedroom set?
Love your pets, and be thankful you and your pet did not fall victim to this recall. It has been the worst experience me and my family (husband and daughter have taken this equally as hard as me) has ever gone through in our lives. I don't want ANYONE to ever have to go through this. Nothing is safe anymore- we have to look out for ourselves nowdays, no one else is going to do it- this is one big nasty example of that.
First people food, now this.
Hugs and love
Karen
