He's likely just nervous - and has a touch of car sickness. Is he also panting a lot and restless in the car? What he needs is to go for lots of very, very short rides with something fun at the end (definitely not a trip to the vet!!). Go for a short drive, then get out and take him for a walk, then back in the car for home. Or drive a short distance to a park or somewhere he can play. Most puppies outgrow it if given a chance - it also helps a lot of dogs if they can see where they're going.

This should be pretty much common sense. Dogs have a little bit less sense of where they are going. Sure when you go on the same route, but if they're in a car? Not a chance. So of course when you lock him/her in the car and he/she starts to stare out, he wants to know where he/she is.

If they don't whine at all, the owners probably take them on car rides more than once so they know the feel. And where they go could be different, but maybe the dogs remember the sound of a word to the particular place they are going and don't mind.
These are all possibilites.

Just try weening him around cars little by little. =)

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU7kU

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Mine did that when she was a puppy, but now loves car rides and will actually give me the silent treatment if I don't bring her along... If your dog is not used to car rides, then you should talk to it and try to soothe it eventually it will calm down and get used to car rides. Although some dogs just don't like cars... Good Luck

My puppy is the same way. He is just nervous about riding in the car and he is still not used to it. You should take your dog with you to ride in the car more often so it gets used to it. I hope this information helps you bunches!!!

He might just be scarred of being in the car. Like when a person gets car sick. I would suggest maybe opening a window, it always seems to help my dog. Good luck

Excitement of where they might be going, and the fact that they can smell so many new smells and want to check them all out. Kinda like a kid in the toy store, wants to do it all at once.

He lives in the old ways. Tradition calls to chase cars and rid the world of this evil. A pup will not truly be dog until one lays at it's paws, bleeding to death. Vengance. Romance. Coming this summer. Rated R
