I need to know for a dog walker

If your dog is house trained to "go" outside, at least twice a day. But if you just want to give your dog an exercise, one a day should be fine.

Once a day at a minimum. Some breeds are content with a 30 minute walk, while other, more energetic dogs will need at least an hour.
Example: A greyhound needs only 30 minutes a day. They're basically couch-potato dogs. An Australian Shepard however, may need an hour or more, and may do better with more than one walk a day.

It depends on the breed and how long your dog is left alone during the day/night. I have a large breed dog and our yard is big enough but he is left in the house all day while we are at work/school. We take him for a walk in the morning, about a 1/2hr and then after dinner for about 45minutes. We also make sure he gets out in the yard and has lots of play time with sticks, the Frisbee and his ball. I would suggest you speaking to a vet to tailor a walking program specific for your breed's size, weight and age. Good luck!

I would suggest no less than three times per day. The dog will need to go out first thing in the morning, late afternoon, and before bed. If you can walk it more, that would be even better because dogs need exercise and fresh air, just like people do. If it's a puppy, double that number because puppies have smaller bladders.

Walk the dog 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening when it is cool outside. Heat will wear your dog and you out.
