if u are worried call the vet... it can't hurt but a phone call.... when my pup got a scratch on her paw... she did not even notice, but iwas worried, i just called the vet, they told me to put it in flour for a couple minutes, when my pup was vomitting for no specific reason, they gave me advice over the phone until i got to the vet.... when in doubt call a vet or ur vet... most of them don't charge for a call like some doctors do.... they love animals...
but as to the slug... it probably can't hurt too much... but i don't think you want your pup eating it... puppies don't have iron cast stomachs like one person said, some are stronger than others, but some just put up a front....but don't chance it.... My puppy love to pup up a front.... she was very ill once and was ever so playful until one morning she was sick... and I had to rush her in.... don't chance anything with some dogs!

Yes, actually, it can. Slugs and snails(NOT domestically-grown escargot snails, which are produced in captivity for human consumption)often do harbor parasitic worms, called flukes, in their digestive tracts, and these can infect warm-blooded animals which eat the mollusks. If you are using a monthly heartworm preventative containing Ivermectin, however, this will probably take care of the flukes as well. Still, it might be a good idea to consult your vet, since he might recommend a higher dosage.

Dogs eat poop, I wouldn't be worried about a slug.

If so, she'll throw it up. Puppies have cast iron stomachs...mine eats black olives, and then throws them up...I tell him every time, "don't eat that, you'll throw up!" and yet he runs to it, and eats it! At least your puppy didn't eat his poop! Some puppies do, and I don't know why!
