It was a rodenticide used on the grain imported from China. No terrorism involved. This is a good lesson as to why everyone should feed their pets high quality foods manufactured with human grade ingredients only.

They don't know how it got in the pet food yet, but there is speculation as to how it got in there.
A He, rat poison aside, I'd like to address the poison in your head. All dogs are capable of attack. A pomeranian even killed an infant a short while back. But to shed some light on your particular ignorance, here is a little education:

Back in June there was a Golden attack in Virginia that resulted in a 3 year old needing to be helicoptered to CKDH for major facial reconstuction and many years of surgery ahead of him
From 1979 to 1996 304 people have been killed by dogs. In 2004 there were well over 68 million dogs kept as pets and 22 people died from fatal dog attacks. The number is way too small for any government agency or anyone else for that matter to waste any amount of time even thinking about it. More kids died on bikes last year, more kids choked on their food. If you look at the number of Rotts and Pit Bulls and compare the number who attack people, you will find that number is also a SMALL minority. yes, in the 90's Rottis were the most deadly dog, not because of the breed, but because of the people who owned them. The ignorance here is yours, you don't know what you are talking about.

Perhaps the poison is being used in human food products, but we don't know if yet because it takes longer to affect people? Wheat gluten is used in most packacked foods for people. We won't know for sure until the source is traced, hopefully the FBI & FDA are on this - I don't think they would want to tell us if this was suspected as there would be mass hysteria over our food. Unfortunately many foods now come from China (peanuts, apple juice). It's time to start telling our congress we want products made in the US.

Any factory that processes food, can and probably does have a rat infestation problem. Therefore, they'll use traps, poisons, etc.
It's quite simple how the rat poison was available.
I highly doubt someone put it in the food deliberately.

They probably sprayed it in the wheat that they use in the dog food, and since most factories have rat and mice problems they use it there and maybe somehow it got in the food. I hope they can fix this though..
and fallen_angel_810 what are you talking about? No one said anything about your dog being a killer and no not all dogs can be killers..

When things like this happen it really makes you wonder!
How easy such poisoning can get into pet food, wonder how easily it can get into the food we consume. Sad for all the sick pets, mistakes happen but honestly when it comes to food to be consumed by our pets, and humans there is no room for mistakes!

They used it on the wheat that was grown in china, that then made it in the dog food as a filler.

My Rottweiler is contained thank you and will not kill anyone. Any dog can be a killer if it is raised that way.
