Epilepsy is common in many breeds. If this is the diagnosis, then yes your dog will need meds forever to control seizures. Yeast infections in ears is not uncommon either. Yeast infections are often a sign of a food allergy. If the ear infection is a yeast infection try switching to a food with little to no grain content. Good luck

Seizures have many different causes, until you know the cause, no one can say whether he will be on permanent medication or not. Some dogs only need one or two doses & never need any more. If it is due to an inner ear infection, which causes loss of balance, then once that has cleared up he should be all right.
Hope your dog is OK

My dog has the ear infections from time to time. She has allergies! Who knew? Anyway, the inner ear usually turns red or very bright pink and she will scratch at the ear or forever flip the ears.

I was given OTI- Clens for the ears as well as Otomaz ointment. Check with your vet first. This was provided by her Vet.

I never knew dogs had allegories until then. Never heard of dogs having algeries in the ears either. How odd!

Again check with your Vet. Hope this helps.
