My family and I used to feed our dogs a few grapes every now and then. Someone told us that grapes are like poison to dogs. Is this true?

the couches aren't new, there hasn't been any changes in their lives of any kind, but on the same day (weeks ago) they both decided the couches were a good place to relieve themselves. Sometimes it even happens in their sleep!

I have recently rescued a chihuahua from a teenage girl who was unable to financially afford her pet. When I got the little girl I was told that she was pregnant. Since that time it has been confirmed by my vet that Yes she indeed was very pregnant.
My question is... We don't know her exact due date but we figure it is coming soon, is it normal for her belly to change to a darker colouraround the nipple area? At first we thought it was dirt and we tried to wash it away..but of course it's still there...Is this something I should be concered about?

My neighbor has called DEP twice on me, and I had to go to hearings twice. She claims that my dogs bark nonstop and they don't. How can I stop her from falsely reporting me? Also, she lives upstairs from me and feeds the birds out her window. They crap all over my window. She's loud, rude, and inconsiderate. What to do?

One is a poodle mixed with no one knows what and the other one is a full breed Irish Setter that my uncle bought online and we picked him up yesterday at the airport. The small one is really scared of the irish setter. The Irish setter runs at him, I think playing, and the small one runs for his life but the Irish Setter opens his mouth when he gets close, although I don't think he wants to eat him. Cause they're not ALWAYS running. But the irish setter also would not stop humping. He won't stop humping the small one. And he humps the air and people and pretty much everything. He's 3 months old and the poodle mix is 4 months old. Is there anyway I can get Da Vinci [Irish setter] to stop humping Mozart [poodle mix]?

My dog follows me around the house constantly. She even follows me into the bathtroom. If I leave to a friends house overnight she'll start to cry. She sleeps in my bed with me too. Could this behavior have something to do with her last family? She didn't sleep with her last family and she was locked in a room by herself. Help me please!!!

Thanks to everyone who gave me great advice on my new three year old rescue border collie.
I am deffinately getting him neutered, the rescue have given me a voucher to pay for a majority of the cost. I have put his name down for obidience classes and I agree with what everyone has said about keeping him mentally stimulated with plenty of games. After obidience I will take him to agility.
He is a great dog, just need to work on the stopping him pulling problem. I will start doing what you have advised...stopping when he pulls etc.

The cat he was given to the rescue with has been rehomed. I have a cat already, I am unsure how they will get on..any advice on that one? I will be bringing him home on Tuesday.

He seems to have sloppy dog pooh...do you think this could be his diet in the rescue? Maybe it will settle down when he moves in.
Advice appreciated.

My dog is terrified of thunder. It has just gotten worse. I have tired a sedative from the vet, and it did nothing. He is normally a high strung dog, and now terrified of storms. It is so bad that my husband is ready to have him put to sleep. Is there any sedative that you can make for dogs???

My puppy is 10 months old. When we go to work we used to put him in his crate. The other day I came home and he had chewed the metal crate and had gotten out. He was so anxious to get out that he had filed down some of his teeth and his mouth was bleeding. Lately we've been leaving him out when were gone except now he started chewing everything including the couch when we are gone. His appetite has also changed. He used to eat his food as soon as I put it in his bowl now I have to force him to eat. I leave him toys when I leave that he can chew. I leave music/tv on for background noise. I even bought this plug-in that puts out pheramones in the air that's supposed to help dog's anxiety. Nothing has worked.

I have a 14 month old newfoundland female. i have had her for about a month. Wheshe was 5 months old, she snapped the bone in half about an inch above her elbow joint. Her vet confind her to a crate for about 2 months to promote healing. Now that I have her, I have taken her to my vet twice. Once for a physical, and once because she started limping on the same injured leg. It was really swollen at the joint and he put her on Rimadyl 100 mg twice daily. I was supposed to cut down to once daily after about a week. She has started limping again today so I started the twice a day again. Any vets or techs have any advice? She doesn't do a lot. She plays in the backyard a little and walks a couple of blocks before bed. I know she needs the exercisa and I am limiting it as much as I can. What options do I have to help her. I know that you don't have her x rays and that this is for advise only.
