He is 6 monthes old now and is still having accidents. We have a decent sized crate for him, but lately he's bene having more accidents than he used to. We did just get a new puppy and the new pup is more housetrained than the older pup is !! He will take toys from the little pup and gets very jealous of him too. And Dozer (the bigger one) is also always climbing & walking all over me when I'm on the floor playing with them & such. He's a pretty big boy too like 40 pounds !! Please help because I don't want to have to find him another home...he's my baby !!

We do discipline him and take him out alot. He goes for daily walks, along with the other two dogs. His crate is just the right size for him & he's on a set schedule for eating also. He'll just give us no notice that he has to go out or not enough for us to get up to open the door, then he just pees.

Some animals take longer to learn things then others, so try to be patient with the older one. When I was training my dog, when I was home I made sure I let him out regularly. You can control how often he should have to go to the bathroom by controling how much he eats and drinks. Don't leave his food out constantly for him to eat, feed him at certain times during the day. When you leave you can put him in a kennel that gives him just enough space to turn around in, until he learns to go outside all the time. Most dogs dont want to lie around in their on urine and feces, but remember when they are young you can't leave them alone for tooo long. With the jealousy issue, I always try to make sure that I spend more time with the older dog so they don't feel like the new dog is more important. When you get a new animal it is always best to let them meet on neutral territory, like meeting outside and then bringing them inside together. Sometimes this helps with jealousy. Just make sure you spend lots of time with Dozer. The puppy really wont notice that more attention is being paid to him! Good Luck, don't give up yet! :)

The best thing I found when we got our puppy was watching on the National Geographic channel, Cear Millan, The Dog Whisperer.
He studies dog's behaviors his whole thing is YOU, have to be the pack leader. You are the Alpha Dog and they are part of YOUR pack.
He is amazing with animals, and I thought it was crap how he was with troubled dogs, but it's not!!
We did what he did in the show and our puppy responded the SAME way the dogs on the show did.
So watch a few of his shows like we did and get ideas for both your dogs.
He has books to help you, you can watch his shows, or check him out online.
He is amazing!
Good luck!

The way that I taught my puppy not to pee in the house was at first we gave him just enough room in his cage to turn around that was about it and we put his nose in the spots that he peed in (i know it sounds mean but its not) then you take him outside let him go and then bring him back in and put him straight to his cage. He should soon learn that peeing in the house in mot tolerated. And about his getting jealous of the other puppy that is how my dog is too with our cats he climbs all over you when you are playing with the cats and the cats are the same way when i am playing with the dog. I think its just the nature of a dog. and cat.

Try talking them for at least one good long walk a day.. together! If you can catch him in the act try getting him outside before he finishes! It is a pain I know but it works.
Another method we have is that we have bells hanging on the door they are to go out... our 4 dogs will ring the bells to go outside... it takes some time to train them but it works! You have to ring the bells (with their snout or your hand and their attention) EVERY time you take them out.. and say "potty" or whatever word you use to associate going.
Look up CESAR MILLAN "the dog whisperer"... he has a show on, I believe, the history channel.. anyway.. he is amazing! And you should be able to get some good ideas from him!!

Well i have that same problem. Is your dog over weight? or maybe the dog is getting older that it can't help himself from having accidents. What breed is it b/c that sometimes depends on it too.

I found that puppychow.com actually has a lot of information not only on nutrition for dogs, but about training, behavior, anything. They even have video of how to train for certain things and podcasts to download for free to an iPod.
