If your vet recommended it, it would be safe for YOUR dog.

If the vet told you to give this to you dog it should be OK. A for the vet not allowing to cu the nail, because he needs to get this medicine in his system, and a good analogy is when you go the dentist wanting a tooth pulled he won't pull that tooth as long as it is abscessed.

A lot of human meds are used for animals also, the dosage is the key though.

If you don't feel comfortable with this find a holistic vet, they are more expensive but use all natural meds.

Also, I would go to someone else, if the dog is in pain it just needs to be taken care of.

Sounds like the best thing for you to do is to find another vet.You should also report your old one as all human medications are lethal to animals.do whats best for your dog and get another vet, that one just doesnt care about the patient or the parents!!!

ask the vet if he feels garinal is safe otherwise the vet can use another type of sedation. then he could muzzle the dog and remove it safely.

Anytime you doubt what your vet says, by all means, get a second opinion, third, whatever, until you are satisfied.

i think that if your vet gave it to you speciafically for the dog of yours then he probably thinks that he can take it...

( I dont think he is secretly trying to kill your dog w/ the medication )
